I've never done one before. Do you remove or port anything else other than that big lip at the exit?
-
I'm not sure but want to see pix of yours so I know what to do to mine.
-
I just did my stock IC inlet but that's pretty straight-forward. only pain in the butt was having to keep cleaning the alum out of my bit.
elbow is steel so it should go pretty fast.
-
Any pix of the i/c?
-
-
Thanks scoobum! did you just do the lip and some spots there at the exit side?
nothing near the waste gate srea?
I didn't take pics of the IC shave, texas. but it's very straight-forward. I just milled out the radius of the inlet down to about a 1/8". I took a little out of the first bend but not much so not to hurt the integrity of it.

I did a search on TBS and there was a thread on porting the elbow. This was the best pic. The shaded area in red was also trimmed. I believe Steve Monroe once ported these...he'd be your best source of info.
-
I would've traded you a ceramic coated and ported 1 if I'd known you needed 1 Aaron. :068:
-
I have a spare that I am going to do. no big deal. I think I'll send a email to stevemon then

looks great!!! Now port mine. Lol
-
Nice. I guess I need to look into a grinder and some bits. I have a drill press, do you think I could rig something up to mill or just do it free hand?
-
Thanks! I've got about 4 days or so into this elbow........ cause that's how long it took to ship it to Stevemons throttlebody shop, have him port it, and send it back :D :icon_kidra: :rock: :icon_kidra:
Texas T, I wouldn't bother trying to mill it with a mill or drill press. I would just take the ol'die-grinder with a good bit, some safety glasses and hearing protection, and go at it free-hand. Just take care to not make anything too thin.
I could have done this myself, but I'm on a big time crunch this spring finishing up another project. plus... Steves work always kicks ass! :icon_kidra:

looks great!!! Now port mine. Lol
We could do it in a couple months or so

So with this ported elbow is the $185 worth spending on this kirban down pipe? Looks cool and would be 3".

Our vehicles get scrutinized from time to time so when my CAT corroded I stuck on a 3incher behind the aforementioned pipe. "seems" better....

The Kirbans downpipe leaks like a sieve. I had one...don't bother with it.
