Just posting to let you guys know I'm still alive!!!((those of you who care anyway). lol

Update on the buick- I dont drive it as much as i use to. The hood shocks went out and I need a new pair. The only reason I havent bought them yet is because in the process of removing the one hood shock on the passenger side, I managed to twist the head off of the bolt. :hmm I've since wondered A) how will i remove the remaining bolt without damaging too much and B) where the hell I would find such a unique bolt. The valvetrain is still noisey as hell, and extremely annoying. I clearly cant work on anything under the hood until I get the hood shocks fixed. I have a vacuum leak on the line that feeds my brakes. I got my roof fixed and weather stripping installed, but water still manages to get around that. For some reason the windows move an awful lot, and that might contribute to why it isn't sealing properly. Sorry for the rant. Just another Buick owner. Hope you all had a great holiday.

vise grips or drill out the bolt. go to the junk yard and find a GM car with hood shocks and take the bolt
Suck it up!, Man!! Hope you had a good holiday too! :)
-
I just prop the hood up with a cut off broom handle. Old school.
-
I do need to suck it up huh? Lol. Any GM car with hood shocks? Thanks for the tip. The end of a broom stick Texas T? I like it!!! My holiday was pretty cool though. Me and Charles smoked a turkey. We were up till 4 am. It took about 7-71/2 hrs to do. My first having smoked turkey, and I have to tell ya, I wasnt always a fan of turkey until now. Most turkey I've had had been dried out and flavorless.

fried is even better IMO. Inject that sucker with some good cajun spice and it is moist and tasty!

I like the sound of that!^^^

I agree. Haven't made one in the oven since I got my first fryer about 15 years ago

fried turkey is awesome

I've tried fried before and it just didnt turn out the way I expected, and I wasnt the one who cooked it. Baked turkey is ass and not even an option, so smoking it was the best. We injected the shit out this thing, and smoked it for a while. It was juices flowing out of that damn turkey when we were finished. I was really impressed! And the cajun spice sounds like a great flavor additive Steve!!! Didn't realize you had time to be a chef and a TR owner. Nice!!

Your thread turned into a turkey review :icon_lol: . I have not tried a smoked turkey but it sounds like it would be good!
-
Im glad this thread was useful for something!! :atbeer: Lol. The perfect prepped turkey can only be smoked IMO. Try it sometime and let us know what you think!!

I have had it all three ways...I like fried...have a smoked one in the fridge at the moment....
