My target ET 11.5
these are my options ,what do you think
1.Stock mounts up to it?
2. Polyurethane driver side
3.RJC Racing Rear Motor Brace
-
Didn't like what was out there so I built my own Tim. These will let me drop the engine down 5/8" and let me move it back some. :D
-
Looks nice - I have seen TV builders make them like that.
-
Still got some work to do to them but these allow for more room around the mount and since the engine sits lower it should give more room for the headers.
-
So your saying I need a set of after market
-
My first project car was an NA Skyhawk and about every 4 or 5 months I had to replace the driver side motor mount. I finally put a chain on the drivers side so I wouldn't rip the motor mount apart and it worked. 1 after market one is all you need, or attach a chain or strap to the drivers side.
-
Thanks I want to stay away from the chain or strap I did the chain on a BB in the late 70s I just remember the all the racket it made
Drivers side is enough,I just was thinking about the rear no need there
-
Driver's side poly is all you need.
-
Stockers on my engine.
-
Scoobum that's a 10.9 1/4 mile if that 6.9 @101 is your GN on stockers
-
He's in the frozen north so his motor mount won't break until the spring thaw, around June I believe. :icon_fU:

I'm out beating on my junk most weekends. Stock stuff works just fine, Just got my engine back from my builder for a freshening...a nd the heads reworked. Hoping to lay down a 6.7 next year...on stock junk.

That's that guy in Winterpeg you're thinking of. First week of April here.

I have never had a problem with stock mounts on cars in the elevens unless they have a lot of miles on them. then I have seen stock engines with torn mounts. I guess the secret is in finding a good quality mount. I have seen more tranny mounts broken than engine mounts.
-
I'm in Hawaii my mounts won't freeze
You can't even get ice in a bourbon and Coke here
-
Any stock replacement mounts you get from the parts store will be junk, anchor and other brands. I worked at a parts store while in college, they will fit correctly but are not constructed the same as the OEM.
I have a DS HRparts n stuff with no problems. Fit was perfect. I assume they are still in business.

I know 8 sec cars with HR poly mounts that leave with over 15lbs of boost on a transbrake. They never needed gimmicks like that or ties-downs.

Ed - we have a paying vendor that sells torque straps - Please refrain from talking bad about them.
Thanks
-
Well, he's just thinking about selling them...
-
Never torque strapped, never will.
Get the HR mount and call it a day.

Is he thinking about paying to be a vendor, too? :D
