Is this a HD or standard?
-
don't believe that was originally on a buick...if it will bolt up, I guess you can test it out to find out what it will do

Steve ~
That was installed on my 87 GN years ago by the dealer, and I have been running it ever since without issue. I was entertaining the idea of installing a HD one, but figured I would see if this was a HD one or just a standard one.

Okay, first time I saw one. The dealer units were adjustable unlike the original factory units. It is a standard unit. Standard typically will put out about 12 psi minimum and about 20 max
The HD units will put out about 18 psi minimum

I've got a dealer replacement here and that's not one Steve. I've got several like that I bought off evilbay and never tried to check the pressure so they may be the same as stock but it's not a GM replacement.

typhoon or syclone?

So what the heck did the dealer install? Probably a cheap replacement that is adjustable.
Don't plan on running boost over 20 lbs, so would a new HD unit benefit me?
