How did you get there and how much dough are we talking about?
I would love for my GN to be able to compete with the new Camaro ZL1 (580hp), Mustang Shelby GT500 (662hp), and the upcoming Challenger SRT8 "hellcat" (600+hp)..... oh and those damn biturbo AMG mercedes.
My last project was a 2002 Ducati 998 found here (http://www.ducati.ms/forums/56-superbikes/124141-my-998-budget-build-sort.html), and I think it's time to give the GN some love!

I have a ptc torque converter with a 2800-3200 stall. Its a 10in I believe. I haven't installed it yet. Will this hold up with a high performance motor and built transmission? When I talked to the guys at ptc, they seemed to think that I wouldn't be able to reach the limits of this torque converter. It was like $475. Hmmmm

I have the same converter from PTC, woke my car up. I can hold 3000 rpm on the brakes now. I don't have 500hp but was running quicker than those cars listed above at track since they all had stock rear tires and just spun. They were all at high 13 low 14 sec passes spinning. Get your car to hook and tune it good and you will surprise a lot of people who don't have knowledge of the Turbo Buick.

Turbo Buick... horsepower? LOL... you are missing the point, son.
In their natural form these engines make torque, not horsepower. But, if you have enough cubic dollars you can build one to spin harder to make "horsepower".
Seriously, build a torque monster.

I second the "torque" comment. These cars have always been known for TQ over HP.
