Title: Extender G Chip
Post by: larrym on January 23 2013, 04:56:40 PM
got my Extender G Chip and plan to install it this weekend.

Any words of wisdom from those running this chip and the Gen 2 translator?

You're gonna likei it alot! This chip works very well with the GenII translator.
It's been too long since I first installed mine, so I might not remember all the details....but it's pretty straight forward.

I do recall that I had to "tweak" the fuel +/- in several different rpm ranges on my GenII to get it exactly where I wanted (BLM's).

Just installed my wideband O2 & PowerLogger system last fall & will set up the WB tracking when the car comes out of hibernation & is back on the road this spring.

Overall I'm very happy with mine & I"m sure you shouldn't have any problems.  Just might wanna read up on some of the different features that this chip allows.

There are many who are using this set up so just holler if you run into any issues. Bob Bailey frequents the boards too, so he would be your best bet if you are stuck.

Good Luck!

I'm looking forward to having a little more tunabity and wide band tracking. Its all hooked up and I started it in the shop last night. Had a little issue with my chip holder in the computer code 51 prior to start up(flickering SES light), adjusted the contacts in the holder and away it went!

Now for the fun part tuning!!

I've removed several GEN 2's from customers cars. Hope you have better luck than they did.

What were the issues with the GEN 2

They most likely lacked patience and dedication.
