First, which way does the pump turn on our cars as view from the front. I know later Chevy's usually turn ccw, but, I was thinking ours turn cw like the older v belt drives. Too hot to go try to look at it.
Second, I know a lot of the older cars shared water pumps between Buicks and Chevy's. I figure that I could find a larger selection of high volume pumps if I was looking for a Chevy pump than a Buick pump...hence the crossover question.
Okay, looks like it has to turn CW...so I would guess that a pump for the early 80s or so would swap

Our cars go CW
Try one of these. I know a few that are real happy with it. http://www.flowkoolerwaterpumps.com/store/Water-Pumps-Cadillac-CID:-252/4.1L/c21_26_82/p37/Pump:-1621%3Cbr%3EFits-196,-231,-252,-350/product_info.html (http://www.flowkoolerwaterpumps.com/store/Water-Pumps-Cadillac-CID:-252/4.1L/c21_26_82/p37/Pump:-1621%3Cbr%3EFits-196,-231,-252,-350/product_info.html)
