Any one using them?
Do they flow good - or good enough for a low 11ns car?
i am going with 3.5 plumbing from the turbo's inlet to the filter.
thanks for your help guys.

I have one (pancake style) in my sc park ave. Washed it many times and seems to hold up well. Don't get the stubby one the ricers use. I believe you will need the 14" filter. The filter won't hold you back from low 11's

thanks for the info
but i don't have the space for a 14" filter :013:
I was hoping to get away with a 6-8" filter.
i'll take a good look at the car and see if i can rearrange something?? maybe move or get rid of the charcoal canister????
-
Most of the Buick owners moved the charcoal canister to the underside of the wheel well to make room for the filter. I would not use a 6-8" filter. You may get away with a 9" if it also has a front reverse cone feed.
-
got you.
thanks
i'll see what i can move and hide.

are the sizes you recommend strictly for Spectre?
BTW
i was also considering this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/330722230913?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648#ht_1982wt_804 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/330722230913?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648#ht_1982wt_804)

and this is the Spectre that i had in mind

You win.

You win.
does that mean that the last one gets your blessing???
-
My advice is 14" or 9" as I stated. You keep showing me smaller and smaller. I have nothing more to offer
-
I'll add to what Ed is saying: You need a large amount of surface area and volume equal to that of a typical 9" or 14" cone filter used by most everyone. So if you want a 6" long filter it needs to be of a large diameter.

Found something closer

tappers from 6".00 to 4".75
it also has a center inward cone.

You should also look at the AFE dry filters.
And why are you shopping on eBay?

I avoid eBay like the plaque.. I do buy things like wire, cable clamps, harness tape, etc from there though
-
i use ebay more for research.
then i order as much as possible from Advance.com with a discount code and pick the stuff up down the street.
My big issue is space in the filter area.
id like to do things the correct way with a huge filter but space is limited.
I might have to compromise. :(
i am going to take a good long hard look at the car today and see what i can come up with.
the two big things in my way are the Windshield washer bottle and charcoal canister.

ended up using my existing filter an 8" K&N
i put some heat to it with the heat gun and stretched the opening to fit onto the 3.5 LS1 MAF.
