As I do all the purchasing I was involved in setting up installation of the Glasurit 90 line water based system...the only real reason i posted is the fact that McLaren has a contract with BASF for the Red that is on some of their cars. these are copyrighted colors that can only be sold to authorized McLaren Shops... Much like the NASCAR car colors...back in the 80's/90's lots of people wanted the Tide Orange...but as it was copyrighted it was not available to the public...only to the jobbers that supplied the Race Team...This has been a limited trend in the automotive refinish industry the first I was involved with was the Ford Saleen Mystic Mustang.. Saleen Mustang iridescent paint (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDGdvvfJpsM#)  if this car was damaged the bodyshop had to contact their supplier who had to contact the paint rep who then went to the shop to verify that the car was there and decided how much material was needed...it was then sent to that rep who then took it to the shop in person and had to watch it being applied and took what was ever left over...crazy.. .but it was new technology at the time....i actually went to the BASF site Whithouse OH to see them produce the first car...what you see is toned down as the original color was a lot more vibrant...they actually had a stripe that was 18" wide and about 20' long in the reception area...it was pretty cool to walk down the stripe and see the colors change

That is the color I would like to paint my Challenger.  Can you get me a discount on about four gallons?

I bet Grump has a couple of gallons in his shop.  Now if he would only clean it up so he could find stuff.  I bet he has a couple of Sunbeam Tigers hiding under some boxes...also bet they are not named Karen.

Are you the guy that changed black for purple?

Most of mine were black, had a couple dark dark blue ones. A few wide goofy ones.  :068:

I have Carnival Glass from 1910 that looks a lot better than that car.   :icon_eyes:
Irridescent is a word not often found on a Buick site.   :cool;
