started working on the car again today. I'm finishing up reinstalling the dash after removing it to install new air box and rewire for dash harness for ic conversion.
on the rh side instrument panel, the idiot lights from the top down are: security, washer fluid, car is leveling, service engins soon, power injection, etc....
My car has the factory alarm, so the top light has a external lamp socket, similiar to the "service engine soon" socket. but there is another socket there, and for the life of me I can't remember if it went into the washer fluid or car is leveling slot. theres no other place it could go, right?
my 87 has the same harness, but its currently burried and I don't want to take it apart to look. most or every tr I've worked on does not have the factory alarm harness.
these cars didn't come with car leveling or washer fluid light, did it???
number 1 is security light, number 3 is service engine light, what is 2?

From memory I think it's CRUISE.

it's not cruise. cruise is on the bottom and has its own circuit board path

The labeled ones look after market.. Are they part of the same circuit as the fuses I see?

I can't think how washer fluid would have indication anyway, unless it's in the small elec pump unit?
funny how everytime I think I've got a grip on all the simple stuff, something like this comes along and reminds me I don't know crap. I'm hoping somebody knows so I can troubleshoot from work, lol! otherwise I guess I'll either dig out the 87 gn or pull up the wiring prints from my cd service manual. which I hate doing, lol. I should just buy a regular book manual. I absolutely hate looking at schematics on a monitor. they give me all kinds of crap at work cause I bitch about all the service manuals in the aviation world now being on cd. there's just something so much easier and comfortable about being able to unfold a schematic on paper and lay it on the table and be able to see everything.

labeled ones are factory. the fuses are part of the factory alarm, and they are in the correct location per the dealer service manual (right behind the idiot lights on rh side)
these tr dash harnesses with the factory alarm are just a differant beast. there's alot more going on. they even do the conduit differant behind the instrument box because of all the extra wire. it won't fit in that plastic w shaped conduit you see on most. remember there's a brain box for the alarm, starter cut off relays, wires from the doors and trunk, etc.
both my gns have the factory auto headlights so that even adds more stuff back there

car is leveling= dark green and black.
interesting.
anyone have any info on this? I guess it's another option thrown in that never was? kinda like the low fuel light?

remember that these clusters were used in a number of different car lines and one of those lights might be enuf to justify a higher price on another model.
GM did consider using alky/water injection on these cars but remembered at the last minute that they had tried that in the past and people did not remember to keep the reservoir full.

I remember reading about the injection deal. that must've been axed pretty late in the game to have manufactured the idiot light for it and the holes in the hot air intake, that ended up getting a plug instead.
I wonder if another possibility is that the air to air intercooler was already on the drawing board in a couple years?

Kirban used to sell a low fuel kit
Those with alky used the power injection light to show that the alky was spraying and the low fuel was used for the low alky fluid.

My low fuel lights show gasoline low....
