Title: is there a coolant drain on the 3800 series II block?
Post by: tb3 on April 12 2012, 10:27:24 PM
Im getting close to 210,000 on my 04 lesabre.  she's still running like a champ.  I had changed my antifreeze when I had to change the intake gasket , but never drained the block.  i want to do a good flush.
is there a easy to access drain on the block?

You pull the knock sensor to drain the block.  After all these years I would leave it alone.  Remove the thermostat and flush the system with the engine running and radiator plug out. Keep a garden hose in the fill. It will flush clean.

I personally like to use demineralized or distilled water for the final fill.
