Just reading the rules.
TTY head bolts seems a little rigid.Has anyone ever bought original bolts if they've pulled heads?

there is nothing wrong with the factory head bolts when installed correctly

I guess you can if you want to run factory stock...GM has used them on some pretty stout engines....

Most of the stuff we do is because we read ads in magazines, i suspect

TSA is basically a 12 sec class and TTY will work fine. Many blow headgaskets from lack of tuning and or improper installation. I seen headgaskets blow on 13 sec cars with headstuds

Doesn't sound like the rules let them pull the rocker cover to check which may make it a moot point.
I'm not arguing that the stockers are inadequate.

I just don't recall any thread/discussion where the part number for stock bolts was referenced.
What percentage of cars that have had their heads removed now have stock replacement bolts?
What percentage of cars running that class would have unopened engines?
(which is the only scenario where I see TTY bolt being there)

To me ARP bolts should fall in the same catagory as the allowed 237 regulator and aftermarket chip.

So if either the stockers or ARP are used on a 12 sec car I don't see how the ARP are any advantage since the stockers do the job fine?

Maybe they just want unopened motors in the class??

It's Richard Clarks class and he is making the winning payouts along with Kirban. They can make up any rules they want.  I agree it makes no sense but he does get many who race the class and are happy.
