For some reason I never associated the Challenger with Trans Am racing

Yeah, but something to be said for getting one whose history you get to watch unfold. My neighbor has one that's in pieces sitting at a shop waiting to be "restored"...it's been there for years, lol. The guy had thousands of dollars in OEM replacement parts sitting in his storage area...which was leveled by a level 4 tornado what came through here about 5 years ago.
