Title: Media - fair and balanced
Post by: SuperSix on August 16 2011, 11:31:18 AM
I guess we see who the media doesn't want to get elected. I wonder how much the media moguls spend on lobbying?? It's pretty fucking sad we have to get this commentary from a comedy show, and not the "mainstream" media.

What does the media have to lose if Paul gets elected?

Regardless of if you believe in Paul as a candidate, this is still bullshit.

Straw poll results:
The results of the Iowa Republican straw poll of August 13 are:
(1) Michelle Bachmann 4,823
(2) Ron Paul 4,671
(3) Tim Pawlenty 2,293
(4) Rick Santorum 1,657
(5) Herman Cain 1,456
(6) Rick Perry 718 (write-in)
(7) Mitt Romney 567
(8) Newt Gingrich 385
(9) Jon Huntsman 69
(10) Thad McCotter 35
There were another 162 scattering votes.

Paul is by far, the candidate with the best fiscal understanding. ..he is a libertarian rather than a republican, but, he does not stand a chance....

Of course. an impeccable congressional voting record, doesn't change his opinions based on which way to lobbyist winds blow.

And I have been reading some alarming stats about Perry.

I hate to say it but the Republicans will not run a viable candidate. The reason for this is that when everything goes in the shitter it will be on the dumbolcraps heads. This is a time for BS and stupidity so get the popcorn and sit back, cleaning your "toys" as well as loading them.

Perry is an old time politician..no w you see me and now you don't....but I would vote for him over Obama any day.  Perry is not that different from Romney when you get right down to it.

Paul is very intelligent and has been right on the state of our fiscal affairs for years.  But, they (both sides) will ridicule him as a kook because he is not a member of the same ol crowd-Libertarians are considered nuts by the establishment

I was hoping I wouldn't have to vote the "anyone but Obama" ticket again, but I will.

I think Paul is shunned because he actually has values, and isn't in lobbyist's pockets.

Not sure how accurate these are, I liked that he didn't accept Obamacare and had the guts to talk about succession..

Texas stats since Perry has been governor:

I agree. But with the massive missteps Obama has made - it will be a tough road to his re-election.

I don't know about the stats....but, it is not different than it was here under democrat government.  I know lots of people on medicaid so that does not seem hard to get.

The economy has always been better here than most areas.  I guess we could impose a state income tax and become more of a welfare state, but, I would not appreciate it.

If you want a job, you can get one in Texas.  It may not pay what you think you are worth, but, there is generally work...and that is the operative word, "work".  Many find the concept offensive.

I think the education system sucks, but, I don't find it worse than other areas.  My opinion is that it generally sucks-even in Canada from the posts I read on bulletin boards

They have lowered the level of knowledge here.

Too many people can not read nor write English, hence lets make it easier for those students that do not know the language. Not only that our system moves them on to the next year whether they had a passing grade or not  SCARY. Now having said that the parent can decide to have the student repeat the year; problem is the school does not want that and fights the parents that try to have their child repeat the grade.

There are extra curricular activities for the students that want to succeed sad part is they are doing what would have been done in the normal school setting. (plus advanced level info)

Now you have a student that gets to the age where they want to go to College/University and they can not gain entry and want to know why .  .  . DOH

So in regards to Steve's comment we have major issues here too.

Oh now we have a muslum group that want to have religion in the school too. Then the population finds out that they actually have been doing this already. Yet no one else can say the Lords Prayer etc . . . in that school !     And sanctioned by the local trustees too WTH?

I will say that in the very recent time I have seen that the local people have been putting a bite on the trustees to get their heads out of their assess and get on with teaching rather than catering to the various groups that want this that and other crap that has nothing to do with school.

I consider myself fortunate as I live in rural Ontario, we still have teachers that want to teach !  But we do have the problem of the board no longer being local to have any major control of it. It is in the city 40 miles away . . .

Ok enough of my rant.

Carry on gentlemen.

Bachmann for President and Palin for VP.  Has to be better then Obama.  They can oil wrestle in the Westwing to keep the ratings above 50%
