Title: Type II coilpack

What was the issue with using them (3 coil units)?
Baseplate is drilled differently?

I believe an adaptor plate is required.

They often don't work worth a damn at higher rpm/boost.  They only have one voltage feed instead of two.

Hmm too bad- have one on hand.

Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree, here's my symptoms:

Car seems fine otherwise , no codes,
highway driving-periodically above ~2200 it ....bogs hesitates.
backoff the throttle a bit and it clears up.
I do see a bit of black deposit on the lower quarters at the tailpipe.

Thoughts?

what does your pl log show under these conditions?  Does not sound like an ignition problem.

Fuel pressure?

I guess you guys are forcing my hand to get a PL.
So I wouldn't necessarily see retard if fuel disappeared?

This is the car with the new DW pump ( installed by ArizonaGN )

I guess that would depend on how much boost.

I understood you said it happened at cruise.  Doubt you are running boost at cruise...but.. .if you have alky, quickly tap the test button and see if picks up

if you had powerlogger, it would be easy to see if the o2s fell at this time which would be indicative of lack of fuel, but, even with a scanmaster you can watch them and see if they change at this time.

Same thing happened to me twice...and once to Phil. 02 sensor each time.

I would not be surprised.  I have heard that some of the Delco sensors have been flaky lately....alth o I run SD on my cars, I use Denso sensors and they seem to be reliable/consistent.  I don't like heated sensors.

Dave I have 3-4 low mile Denso sensors that work fine if you want to try one.

Doing a visual over the car on the weekend.
I find the intercooler hose clamp right off, in fact its under the hose.
(wasn't me)
Seems to run better now for some reason...

Whats a good cross-count on a scanmaster?

10-50 per scanmaster frame (about 1.4 sec)
