Title: Blast Furnace
Post by: Steve Wood on May 28 2011, 01:27:56 PM
I never looked at the thermometer yesterday.  Ed told me he had seen on the news that it was a record day out here.  I guess he got it right because the paper said 108 degs yesterday.  Sure glad I did not look because I would have never gone outside.

Cooling down to 105 today.  Damn glad a cold snap is setting in.

When I lived in Mesquite NV (and worked outside no less) it was regularly this hot in the summer so I know that type of heat can wipe out any ambition with a quickness.

It wasn't near that hot here today but I was sweating most of the day. Last month it was suprisingly cool and I have a feeling that this and next month it will be even worse. Stay cool if you can Steve.

Just another reason why I think high desert living is as good as it gets.

I'm thinking Flagstaff. Sometimes I think Tennessee but have no real idea how humid it gets?

The week I spent across the road from the Alamo
persuaded me I ain't gonna survive that humidity.

TN is like climbing up into a bull's asshole. Flagstaff I really like, but you've gotta have a tolerance for snow.

Insert sarcastic comment about snow here?

How much can they get? ....
100 inches- wow much like  AJ's climate :)

Can't remember the name of the peak there but it's the highest point in AZ and therefor can snow during times of year when you wouldn't expect it. Nice town, though...kinda expensive.

TN is not too bad. It will get humid at night but it generally burns off during the day, 40-50% humidity. beats the hell out of Chicago and the days of 100% humidity.

I will take 95* here compared to 80* in Northern Illinois with the 100% humidity.

I could do rust blueing with out a cabinet in TN but here I have to make a cabinet so that the parts get enough humidity. I had a lot of issues with my weapons rusting there but near the same here. :supz:
