Title: Bumper Fillers
Post by: Wrecked Em on May 19 2011, 10:29:34 PM
Any recommendation between ABS and fiberglass?

I need them front and rear on the DD.

These were dead 7 years ago. I am not impressed with the NOS but thanks for the input.

Whats the paint history on the car? Mine seem just fine?
edit: Theorizing that a fairly early repaint of enamel maybe protects them better.

I bought mine (the complete set of 5) from here:

http://www.replica-plastics.com/

I had the rears melded together to make it look a bit nicer.

The owner called them a fiberglass plastic resin mix.

Just sounds like polyester Fiberglass to me

Are all these replacements rigid? If you get touched you replace?

The Fiberglass are rigid and the ABS are flexible.

Not sure, bought the car in 2003 and the paint was rough then and the bumper fillers were starting to sag at that point.

I was happy to see the fillers on the new GN are flexible, and in good shape. I have fiberglass on the 87 T.
