Im posting my issue on this site as well to get as many opinions as possible. I dont have a FP gauge yet. Please help. I havent done any step suggested yet b/c i want to get all the input i can first. Thanks guys!! :)

First, Glen sells the correct parts....if you want to post a pic of what you bought, we can tell you if it is not the right coil pack.
Second, the coil packs are not particularly sensitive to brand, but, I will not use anything but a GM module as it seems to be very iffy when it comes to proper functioning.
third, coil packs/modules usually fail completely and miss badly under boost, but, often will still run okay in normal driving. If I understand correctly, yours is missing at cruise.
If the coil ohms out properly, and all three coil packs are firing a blue spark, I would look elsewhere.
bad plug wire, gummy injectors not spraying properly, fouled plug
If it misses while running at an idle, pull the injector clips off one at a time, and see if there are one, or more, that don't make much difference in how it is running as it is removed. Be sure to note those cylinders for further discussion.

Hey steve, thanks for the reply. Everything is actually fine while cruising. Under acceleration is when I have these issues. Sorry if the post was confusing. On another note, just went outside to check it out b/c I haven't had a lot of time with the car, and found three different locations in which It was leaking fuel. :(
-
I checked Glens site...and all I see are coil packs for our cars...so I'm not sure what your referring to as FWD...unless your mechanic tried using a series 2 coil pack. I agree with Steve about only using GM modules...as I've seen more than one of the guys up here have less than desirable results with aftermarket modules. Gummed up injector(s), a plugged up fuel filter...or a weak pump could all cause the symptoms you're describing. You really need to know if your FP is rising with boost...and some SM numbers would help.
-
Posted the same time as you did Phil...and just saw you have fuel leaks. Fix 'em...and take it for a quick drive and report back. The engine might be starving for fuel when you lay into the loud pedal with the leaks.
-
find a way to check the fuel pressure as well...
-
ALSO...ohm the coil packs and tell us if they all are in the correct range 11-13 k ohms
-
Will do gents. My next response will be the resistance of the coil pack. When the mechanic mentioned the FWD coil pack i scratched my head b/c i spent quite a bit on the units i purchased from NOS4GN. The quickest thing i can do is ohm the coil pack. Thanks for the responses and stay tuned. I can also post some SM numbers.
-
Also forgot to mention that the SM shows a code 44. havent unplugged the ecm wire from the battery to check and see if it clears permanently or if it'll come back, but i do feel like i should mention it. I think code 44 is a lean exhaust.

Code 44

-
might have mentioned that right off the bat.....
what are the mafs, and O2s at wide open throttle...and again, the fp?
-
I havent went WOT b/c im afraid something bad will happen. Lol. Im in between moving because I just purchased a house so it'll be some days before i can actually get to driving it. Gonna fix the fuel leaks as well. My cousin Charles let me borrow his laptop that has direct scan on it. havent hooked it up yet either. Should be able to get you everything you need from that, yeah? I'll be in touch guys. Again, thanks for the replies.
-
good luck with everything...y ou and Charles are always moving, it seems to me!
The 44 makes it sound like it is not an ignition problem to me.
-
Get a FP gauge stat - they are cheap and worth every penny.
-
I can purchase a FP gauge from anywhere right? And Steve, this is my 1st and last move!! Lol. I'm excited. I'm still in the same area though. Charles on the other hand definitely moves a lot.
-
Yes, as long as it has the correct Schrader valve connector.
-
Easier question, where did u guys purchase your FP Gauge from?
-
I bought gauge from McMaster Carr and the fitting from Caspers as I recall
-
Mine came with the car.
I would recommend a liquid filled gauge.
-
When I went to buy mine I think Casper's stopped carrying that valve...I wound up getting a complete liquid filled kit from Kirban's.
-
I bought mine from OTC tools about 20 years ago. Still works great.

That one definitely looks nice.
-
really nice people, too

this price isnt a bad price at all. ideas on where to get the pod from?

What do you mean? Like a hood mount for it?

Nevermind, just seen that it was a rail mount gauge. How is a gauge like that useful for the driver?

Sorry, that was me not paying attention to anything but how cool the damn thing looks. :confused;
-
you put a hose on it...lay it on the windshield when you need it
Look at the bottom of the page...see the adapter for $14.95? you buy that and connect a 1/8" npt fitting to it...hose to that...and other end of hose to the gauge
-
I never had a need to monitor mine real time.
Set the correct pressure, and let it be. Us e it afterward for diagnostics, that's about it.
-
No need for an adapter just use a nos line threads and seals both ends fine.

-
Well I was only monitoring it because I was told to watch to see if the FP rise with boost.....
-
which is what you need it for...I think they were trying to say you did not need to leave it hooked up all the time....I do and just leave the gauge laying beside the master cylinder..but, that is just me.

Same here.

So if i buy the rail mount it'd extend to the windshield for testing purposes? I know i sound dumb but i just bought a house and refuse to buy the wrong parts. Thanks guys
-
You need a fitting that screws on to the fuel rail. then you need a 1/8" npt barb that screws in the other end of the fitting, a hose to slip on the barb that is long enuf to reach the windshield, a barb that will screw on the end of your gauge and fit into the hose.
Or find someone with a gauge on a hose that you can borrow. :D
-
Or, another Or....if your o2s will read 780-800 at wot up in third gear...you probably have enuf fuel pressure
