I could so vent some road rage tension behind the wheel of this rig!!!
-
I might still live in Houston if I could drive like that
-
Bad ass. Well done video too.
-
yes, she was....and yes it was!
-
I can total picture Sylvan driving like that ....
-
probably does...that may be why he is always broken down in BF Egypt
-
Meh, FL's are okay...I kinda like the Classic XL but the Peterbilt 379 is king, just ask Michael Bay or Metallica.

...and this is a great opportunity for my PSA! If any of you are still the type to drive alongside a truck for any longer than it takes to pass you are retarded. This Michelin bitchslapped my catwalk two days ago...your windshield and/or face would've fared even worse. Stay the fuck away from trucks, please!

please tell me that you are not running recaps

Why would I pay any attention, I don't buy 'em!?

those pics are classic examples of recap coming apart. Back when I had my own tri axle dump truck, I tried them out because they were cheaper. Damn if that wasn't a mistake... any money saved on the purchase was lost on repairs to the truck. Hell the worst time was losing a cap on the tag axle and having wrap itself around the front tandem. I spent 3 hours and used numerous sawzall blades removing that damn thing.
-
I believe it. Due to the ridiculous cost of sending out a wrecker, I doubt they run 'em. That and they appear to have a contract with Michelin, but what do I know?
-
guess ya just got a bad one then ...no matter. Your right about the 379, they were awesome trucks. I never really cared for a freightshaker, especially the fl series. But there is no way I would turn down a chance to give that one hell.

Recaps are good for wheel barrels. You guys should see the damage when the old split rims blew apart.

Split rims ended a lot of lives.
I had a recap blow out on a CT trailer in front of me last summer, of course I was driving my GN. The only time I don't gun it and get past an 18w before they merge... I slowed up so the truck could get in, then the recap blew. Good thing my ttops were on. Scratched up the car in a couple spots... Nothing that couldn't be fixed, but I still dinged there insurance company for $1300.
And I took the ditch at 70 mph - wish I had that Dukes of Hazzard move on video.
-
With that said, recaps are junk. My dad always told me a new set of tires on his semi was cheaper than a lawsuit a recap let go and killed someone.
-
I agree with ya about the recaps ...but there are plenty of people still using them. Summer time around here the highways are littered with "gators".
-
I at least pull mine from the roadway...can't stand how most just leave them hoping that DOT will get around to it. Too damned dangerous.
-
nothign wrong with freightliners. . i dont mind the columbia's... thats prob why i pretty much own one. just got to get used to it handling like a barge.. and.. screaming turbo.. i lucked out with mine. 04 with a pre acert cat. it'll be very diffrent from my company 14l detroit i drive.
