Title: Boost gauge reads 0 at idle.
Post by: Jordan_J on February 20 2011, 11:41:17 AM
I started my car yesterday for the first time in a couple months and as the title stated it read 0 vac/boost. Could this be a vacuum leak or is the gauge messed up?

Does it appear to be accurate under boost? My car always had shitty vacuum, but 0 seems more like a gauge issue to me.

I would check for a vacuum leak.

I haven't taken it out for a spin yet, hopefully this week. It was the first time I started it since doing all my work and I'm trying to work some bugs out. My brakes weren't working when I started it or I would have gone for a small drive.

Thanks I'll check for a vacuum leak.

does it move at all?...as the others said, sounds like the hose is cut or disconnected

I got it fixed there was a kink in the line going up to the gauge under the dash. I'm not really sure how it got there but sure enough the little bit of slack I had under there kinked.

With Buicks the problem is ALWAYS a simple and stupid fix...or a catastrophic failure. Enjoy!
