9mm rules, .45 drools. What part of "speed kills" don't you guys understand?
-
I don't own any guns. I get my gun fix from a friend that has a huge cache.
-
want proof I'm a good shot?
just returned from black bird hunting in Beebe, Arkansas ,
need I say more?

My personal guns
-
I only keep one gun around and that's the Ruger P89. If I had around $800 to spend on another firearm it would DEFINITELY be a Ruger .44 mag Super Redhawk. As Danny Vermin would say, " It shoots through schools".
-
I love my Colt 357, traded ammo for race fuel though.
-
I had over 60 pistols one time. Sold them all, because I'm a dumbass. I had a Ruger Super Redhawk. A rather large pistol, to be sure, though not as large as the Desert Eagle 44.
If I was to carry, it would be a one of the Springfield Armory .40 s&w or 9mm XD or XDM's. I don't like a manual safety on a personal defense weapon, but that's just my preference.
I want to be able to pull it and shoot. Stress can cause one to forget about a safety, and every second counts sometimes.
-
Can I shoot you instead?
-
Probably not, as I sense you are weak willed and effeminate

Jesus, that's quite the arsenal. The Redhawk is a beast best left to the men to wrangle, for sure. As far as the Desert Eagles go, I know a guy who has the 9mm 'Baby Eagle' as they're oft called. A very well built piece that has pretty much zero barrel play.
I tend to go the other way with the safety. My Ruger has the safety with decock feature and I really like it that way.

9mm is for wussies, I gave mine up when I was 12. Been shooting a .45 ever since.

Magazine envy is an ugly thing.

I figured out long ago to standardize my pistol arsenal on the 9mm for the following reasons:
1) Ammo is cheaper.
2) Ammo is cheaper.

I have 40 round mags for my mini-14.

Browning 12 bolt action, takes mag shells
22 rifle
Wincester model 94 30-30 (date to Korean war time)
10mm pistol...

[shadow=indigo]Screw that! That is what my 12 Ga. is for![/shadow]

I have a Smith 629 ,44mag...but who wants to shoot guns that will blow both ear drums if you shoot them without hearing protection?
I prefer my .45

Well to put it in perspective I would much rather get hit with
(http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/hammer-1.jpg)
Than get hit with
(http://www.wickes.co.uk/content/ebiz/wickes/invt/169099/Sledge-Hammer_large.jpg)
Sure the first one is faster but the 2nd one will hurt more.
Either way when I went gun shopping for my first handgun I wanted something that looked awesome, shot great, and just felt at place in my hand. I fired a Beretta 9mm when in the Air Force and it was pretty boring. I went to ranges and fired several other semi-auto's and eventually considered the Glock as my choice but when I fired a Kimber 1911 I knew what I wanted.
I bought my Springfield 1911 mil-spec but did some upgrades myself since I didn't like the factory beavertail and my fat hand got hammer bite every shot I fired. I put on the one that's on it now, changed the sear, trigger, and put on a skeletonized hammer. All adding better looks to the gun IMO. I also bought a Wilson magazine to try it out and know that I want to buy more. I love the fact that there are two safeties however I keep them both on. The position of the thumb safety is so easy to switch while drawing or aiming.
The next handgun I buy is going to be an FNH Five-Seven and I still wouldn't mind a S&W 629 and Glock or similar gun in a .40 caliber. There is no gun that compares to the looks of a 1911 IMO I just wish I had $3,500 to buy a top end one from Wilson or Les Baer. http://www.emersonbrandapparel.com/EmersonBrandApparel_Gunslinger.html#Baer
I plan on buying a Remington 870 to make into a tactical home defense gun and Marlin .22 for plinking this year hopefully before summer.

Cool Gun!

I'd rather be hit with this 6 times...

...than with this 15 times...

Buought a Ruger Security Six .357 about 35 yrs ago. Bought a Ruger LCP .380 with Crimson Trace when I got my permit in August.
-
After one time with this it would not matter.
But you seem to like punishment, so 15 times of this would seem to make you happy.

Alright, now what about the other bad guys?
-
Can I videotape the hammering?
-
I have a Kimber Stainless Ultra Carry II 1911 for my CC and I bought my wife a Kahr CW9 9mm. Grandpa bought my daughter a CZ .22 with scope and bipod for plinking with at the range.

nice!!!

Anyone have a 38 super? A very interesting cartridge, IMO, and often overlooked. I'd like to have one of the 1911 variants chambered in it.
Interesting history behind the 38 super by the way, for those interested in googling
-
Very interesting indeed.

38 Super is not bad, I like the 10mm better though, another one often overlooked.

I've read Nugent swearing up and down that his 10mm Glock is his all time favorite...I've never tried one.

The Pre WWII Colt 1911 I mentioned in my 1st post.... it's a .38 Super, not a .45 Can you say extremely rare? :cool;

The 10 was THE next big thing at one point, then it sorta died out. I think jeff Cooper was a big proponent (you know who that is if you're a gun nut)

I wanted a Glock so bad but, when I tried shooting it, I did not like the way it felt. I thought it was to heavy, and uncomfortable for me to shoot for some odd reason. :smt017
-
to me, the most important part of shooting is how the gun feels in your hand. Some guns feel just right and they are easy to shoot consistently while others just don't fit and they are hard to shoot accurately.

It was the wimpy ass FBI agents that couldn't shoot it that killed the 10mm.
The FBI went to 10mm, then found out that the wimps in the office couldn't shoot it. They dumped them and went with the .40....and the 10 died. But it seems to be making a little bit of a come back lately.
Damn good round
-
wimpy assed FBI couldn't shoot the .45 so they joined the pussy parade and went to Nines...then they found out that 15 rds would not kill someone because they could not shoot straight enuf for a shot to the eye...so then they went 40s instead of hiring people capable of shooting the 45!
Now, they are whining the 40 bites in the smaller pussy versions so they are looking for downloaded shells....
-
They need to bring JEH back and start hiring men again
-

No matter if they wear dresses in their off hours! :rolleyes;
-
I wondered who would be smart enuf to point that out...no matter...dead is dead whether the shooter wears dresses after work, or not :smt071
-
I wondered who else was old enuf to point that out...
Fixt
-
in reality, they turned down the 10 mm for the the 40 short and weak....
the 10 is a great gun if you have one built for it.
-
you guys are going to hurt yourselves.
you should play with water guns instead.
their way more fun :smt071 :smt071 :smt071
-
BS, the SW MP AR 15-22 that I gave my daughter in law for Christmas is more fun than any water gun
-
For Mother's day the one year, I got my Ruger 22/45 and I also got to go shooting with it the same day. It was great. :supz:
-
heck, yeah!
can shoot all day for a few bucks
-
I've never quite been able to make a jackrabbit's head go splodey with a squirt gun...?
-
You just about would have to go to the zoo to shoot a jackrabbit in central Oklahoma these days. Ohhh I maybe shouldn't have said that to Deception... :evil; :bigeyes; :smt071

I wish I could have shot it but the cops were just letting me mess around. I was a bit on the drunk side and I'm surprised they even let me hold it seeing as to how I almost dropped it.
