Title: Broke my car before I left
Post by: Ttype83 on August 11 2008, 04:42:19 AM
Me and my youngest daughter abused the heck out of the cah while I was home. County put down new Asphalt on the street by the house. You know the Buick had to go leave it's mark more than once  :rofl;  By the time I left I couldn't give it more than 1/4 throttle or it would start to break up. I was thinking MAF or coil pack, I left it with earl to look at while I gone. After changing out the MAF, adding a translator it didn't do any better. I was thinking coil pack or the wiring going to it.  Any guess before I tell ya what he found???

I'll give a couple of more hints.
Always lean on top end and when turbo first spools up. Never been able to get the turbo above 21lbs of boost, either tuner style or normal.
Ok back under my rock.

Nope, He did have to reset the IAC and TPS afterwards for some reason, but they were at 18 & .42....Another hint but this might give it away. Turbo wasn't with in it's operating psi.

Boost line install ?

Boost line cracked, who knows how much boost I was really running. Earl has it running good at 19psi now.

Your boost gauge should've still told you what the actual boost was.

Not when it's venting pressure. Crack was in the T connector under the hood. Earl fitted the crack and said that it hit at least 28psi before he let off of it.

I was thinking the boost line to the wastegate.
At least you have alky, so hopefully, you won't need headgaskets.
