Since the board has been dead, just wondering, when does everyone's kid's or yourself go back to school?

Our kids go back August 7.

Article in the paper the other day touting the "year round" school plan for WV. Kids would go all year round with a few weeks off at a time, presumably some sort of rotating schedule. It seems the kids are forgetting everything taught to them during their traditional three month summer vacation...har har. No more summer jobs etc.

If I was a kid, I would have to kill someone if they instituted that plan.

I think they go back the first week of September here, but I'm not sure.

If I was a kid, I would of died. I could not handle all year. I would be doing a lot more of ditching classes (look out Taco Bell), (oops, not me, I was perfect at school). lol.  Anyway, the one "Christian School" here in town goes all year, but, from what I have been told, they are off for a few weeks every few months.  Which ends up being like "Public" schools. They are off just as much and in school just as much. I really do not see a point in all year. The kids need a break also.  (remember, I have little ones, so I may change my mind when they are teenagers.) :rofl;

They start back Aug 7 here in Alabama too.  Virginia starts back Sept 5.

See west vaigra has always followed Virginia's example. Only once  did they not and for that the rest of Virginia punished them and kicked them out. :p

Great.  Traffic will be even worse once school starts back.

I grew up in the year-round system (and later in life, mandatory Summer school...) and it sucked. NO breaks. Then, masochist that I am, spent the last 6 years in school with no Summer's off. God, what a waste.

It only took me 16 years to get my BS. I did have ~190 credit hours though.

I started my MBA after the BS but I put that on hold about a year ago.

I may go back and finish the engineering degree I started 10 years ago.

My kids go back the first week of September.

As for me...I haven't been in a school in more years than I can count and it looks like I am as smart as Zap.

My little doll turns 4 in a few weeks, so it's not an issue quite yet. Still, I wonder a lot what the correct course of action is...home school and keep her away from the retarded rodent spawn of others or send her to public school and have her learn her lessons the  old fashioned way.

Also, I smoke a pack and a half of Camel non-filters a day in order to be certain that I'll not be around when she...ahem, "blooms".
