So...it's official, I'll be moving to Alabama sometime between June & August of '08.
I am so not looking forward to that drive from San Diego...
-
Drive is not that bad...I did NC to Seattle(2 kids) then Seattle to Atlanta with the kids, cats and dogs on the return.
-
Why Alabama? Of all places? Re-assigned?
-
Meh, you're not missing much in San Diego. They can't get rid of the broke people so prices everywhere are going up and the ghettos are getting pushed farther out. It's best to stay away from here.
But really, Alabama?
-
Yeah, reassigned. I asked for it though...well, begged is more like it. I need some stability and an assignment there will provide that. We're also thinking of retiring in Huntsville.
-
Did you come out here and visit Huntsville? Pretty decent little city isn't it?
-
Welcome back....almost! You will be in Alabama just in time for the heat of summer!!!
-
Seriously, is your sister *that* hot?

Well, an update...I ordered the car trailer.
A 28' Dominator.
The Buick is dead though...my father took it out for a weekend drive, and the next morning when he went to start it and move it around in the garage, it was dead.
It would turn over, but it wouldn't fire.
Tried the cam sensor already.
Thinking it's the crankshaft sensor...more like hoping it's the crankshaft sensor. Anyways, he's got the car apart and was going to put the sensor in but he got in two accidents (one on his bicycle and then another on the highway) so he's been delayed. It's driving me insane though because I need to make sure that damn thing is running before I get there.

Update, I'm flying out of the ROK on the 30th of May. The trailer was delivered and apparently it's freakishly long. My dad used it and my new truck to take the Buick up to Don Lee's to get it fixed and he says the truck toes like a champ and the trailers pulls smooth. Got some extensions for the mirrors, and some DVD players w/wireless headsets put in the seats of the truck for the kids.
Man, I am dreading that drive again...mostly because of the gas.
Anyone want to start a poll on what they think the gas bill is gonna be for this trek?
This time, I've got the wife and kids with me too and the wife wants to make stops to see stuff, not sure what stuff as it's the interstate and there isn't much stuff as I recall. I want to try to avoid the major city hubs if I can.

Have a safe trip and bring many movies. I do not know which way you are going, but if you come across the Rt.66 try and take it for a few miles. We did that on the way to AZ and the kids enjoyed going to see the old fashoned gas stations and bridges.
