  • OBDI cars have to be put on the dyno in Houston..yet every inspection place will claim their dyno is down, or the tech is out because they don't want to do them.  Yet, the state inspects them all the time and if the dyno is down and not fixed straight away, they will lose their license

  • Judging by my 94 Impala and 1998 1/2 ton truck...scanni ng starts somewhere from 1995 to 1998

  • My 1994 Impala SS was tailpipe. My 1998 1/2 ton pickup was scanned. 2500 series trucks are considered commercial even if owned by a provate citizen like me and are tail pipe. Deisel are 3 to 5 minutes with no black smoke at idle. 1987 and older are etest exempt.

  • I learned a long time ago it's best to buy a vehicle turn key. There's several trucks in pristine conditon from that era on Kijiji for around 5 grand.

  • Ron...no. My 1994 Impala required the tial pipe test. My 1998 pickup was the computer. My two 2500 pickups are tail pipe as they are deemed commercial. A mechanic friend said diesels have to idle for either 3 or 5 minutes with any black smoke and they pass. It's nothing but a cash cow for the govt.

  • Jeremy...under neath that truck the brake and fuel lines are a mess. The bottom of the drivers door is almost flapping in the breeze. I just priced a fuel pump at 425 plus 13 percent sales tax if it needs one. It's good money after bad...

  • when you take money, then you are responsible for anything that happens to them as long as they own the car.  In this case, you find just how incredibly stupid most people are today
