IHADAV8 Playground / Dodge Caravan Exhaust help
« on: July 10 2011, 08:00:33 PM »
Hi guys.  I left, but I didn't get very far.  I need help.

I replaced the exhaust on my Dodge Caravan with the exact same parts, nothing added, nothing missing. The kit I'm using looks exactly like the stuff I took off.  The bolts have a shoulder on them and only go so tight.  The lead gasket is loose in there, even though I can't make this any tighter.  Anyone familiar with this setup?

I sold my beloved Buick so I won't be around anymore.  I was never smart enough to contribute much to the tech discussions, but I sure enjoyed reading them.  I could never have owned my Buick without all of the help I got over the years, especially on TurboBuicks.co m.
I owe a lot of thanks to many people, but I especially want to thank Steve Wood for all of his patience with me.  Steve, I've only known you via the forums, but you're one of the smartest people I've ever had the pleasure knowing.
Good luck to all of you guys and I wish you all the best.
Chris Garrett

General Buick Tech / Need electrical help again
« on: May 28 2011, 04:14:19 PM »
Original problem was that the battery would not hold a charge.  I replaced the alternator and the battery and same problem.  After driving around a short while, the radio went off, then the wide-band.  I looked at the voltage on the Scanmaster, and I could see it dropping.  Just made it to the shoulder of the road and got towed home.

I charged the battery, and it showed 12.8 volts.  There was 12.2 at the alternator.  When I started the car, the voltage went down to 11.8 at both alt and battery.  As I let the car idle, the volts continued to drop until about 9, when the car died out. Cable to battery/alt. looks good.  Grounds are solid.
Any ideas?

When I'm cruising in the car, there is a vibrating noise just before the trans shifts.  The car is driving normally and shifting normally.  Any ideas?

General Auto Tech / Battery or Alternator ???????
« on: May 24 2011, 03:25:31 PM »
My battery keeps losing it's charge.  I have to keep it on the trickle charger.  I'm assuming it's the battery and not the alternator.  The battery is about 6-7 years old and the car is only driven seasonally and occasionally.  I know there is a possiblity the problem could be the alternator and not the battery.  Is there a way to find out without removing the alternator?

IHADAV8 Playground / Craigslist Ad Help ( Again)
« on: May 11 2011, 07:42:15 PM »
I'm trying to post larger images to a craigslist add from Photobucket.  I'm clicking on the HTML to copy, but when I bring it over to the ad, I only get the long code and not the picture.  I've done this before with success, but I can't make it work now.  Anyone have any ideas?

I noticed that some of the private craigslist ads have lots of pictures and larger sizes of pictures.  Does anyone know how you do one of these kinds of ads?

Transmissions / Steve Wood: Trans cable adjustment
« on: March 19 2011, 05:19:51 PM »
Hi Steve,
Looked around your site and didn't see anything on the trans cable adjustment.  Just took her out after fresh engine install and it's shifting too hard.  Is this covered on your most excellent website?
Thanks
