Title: transmission noise at shift points
Post by: TurboCajun on July 23 2013, 10:55:52 AM
after starting the car (trans cold) when putting it in gear I would hear a whinning noise, and after it was up to temp. right before a shift I would hear the same noise. So I pulled the pan to change the filter and oil. I found a bolt laying in the pan, I found the place where it came from( as shown in picture) . put everything back together and no noise. Just wanted to post this for someone hear a whinning noise.

Interesting. I have the same groan. Only does it in gear, can only discern the noise at idle/sitting still.

I'm thinking about my son and I putting a TransGo kit and seeing if we could improve the performance without removing it again. It also won't shift under WOT, you have to lift quickly to get it to go into the next gear. I'm thinking I might see the problem when we pull the governor installing the kit.
