To those going to this BG event, I want to wish you well and good luck. BE SAFE.

My race season for this year is over. I have to say I am glad. All 1/8th mile this year.
edit: why is it 2019?

Lots of racing yesterday since forecast shows rain for Friday.  Made one qualifying run for TAI class. Still working the launch tune and now I have what I think is an ignition issue that starts at at 5300 rpm.  Eric and Bob are supposed to be in the area today and talk GN-ECU with everybody. It's been a great time so far.

Good Luck!  Hopefully you can knock off some decent times and not break anything!  Should be fun.

No slips? Ken put up a ten with only half a run.

Nothing of significance to show on time slips for me Rich. Super impressed with Ken's car. Stock unopened engine on E85, 6262 stock headers, precision SLIC and 120 injectors.  Foot brake launches at 28 psi, and 28 psi the whole pass then the up pipe blows off the throttle body.

Rained all day. At Eric's recommendation, I changed to a resistor type plug. Didn't get to test. Rain stopped about 5 this evening. Hoping for a dry track tomorrow. Found out I was the slowest qualifier in the TAI class, so I'll get to go up against Mellisa on the first pass. Well... It was fun anyway!

Aftermarket ECU's don't seem to have the noise dampening down as good as the OEMs.

Any more testing after eliminations?

X2 give it hell. Glad you switched to the resistor plugs. I hope you reattached the factory grounds. Lots of noise. Not good for a stand alone.

You can do it and if you get it to hook and lay down a nine sec pass that is a win!

Kens looks really solid. I guess he didn't he the memo on upgrading the hoses and sticking them on with some hair spray. He is way ahead.

Well this trip is in the books. Had an awesome time with the TAI folks and everybody else as well.  As always it's a learning event for me and having fun at the same time. Something new for me this year was that I was asked to help with somebody's tune which turned out to be just help in navigating the software but still felt nice to be asked. I didn't get the spark issue rectified at higher rpms but I did lay down a 1.55 short time, which is a success in my book. Still room to grow and I have a plan for the next step with the spark issue.

Meeting Bob and Eric was a huge bonus. Those guys are the cats meow!  Hanging with Kevin the Canuck is always amusing and educational. Love that guy!

First qualifying pass in TAI was 7.01. Second qualifying pass was 6.97. Didn't have to race Melissa. I went up against Clint Atkins in the first round of eliminations in which I was the first person eliminated. Saw some awesome thrashing by Russ after a right front spindle broke.

Also learned that I'm doing alky all wrong...  I'm supposed to have two nozzles and the controller maxed out and then tune around the spray.... Hmmm...

Hey, car looks great. You drove it back up on the trailer and made it home safely. Big win in my book. And short times in the 1.5s is very nice. Sounds like a good time to me.

I don't know a whole lot about squirting in some alcohol but I do know that too much can create a distribution problem and adding a second nozzle doubles that problem. These cars have a big enough distribution problem with the stock setup and the injector in the port for its cylinder. That hole(s) that doesn't get enough can become quite lean even though the wide band sees the whole thing as fine. Keep an eye on the plugs.

And kudos on helping the other racer out with his gnecu. I'm sure if I get that far you will get some texts.

Sounds like a great time!  I've done that with my old SMC, put the controller on 10 and pull fuel.  I had a stock car with the exception of a TE44.  I ran low timing and kept the boost at 24psi and was able to trap 116.7mph.  Your intake temps go way down!

If it were me, and that was my first 6 sec time slip, I would frame it with that launch photo.

I go to both 1/4 & 1/8, congrats on belonging to the 10 sec club. 7.00 is considered to be a 11.00 quarter. You would out run my gn by approx 600 ft in a quarter.

My $0.02.

Best BG yet and I learned lots from Jason on this one.  :powersix: You got this new program working! Truly the best group of guys and gals. Cant wait for next year. Jason's car works and the Merrit's had some bad luck but we thrashed and made the final. Russ was running around the pits like a kid in a toy store and Melissa was on her game as usual. She will be back for her trophy.  :icon_fU: Jason Cramer was doing well until he had some driveline problems but everyone was still laughing and having fun. My buddy Thumper and his wife Missy also fought the race demons but were still enjoying the time. To all my Buick friends have a great year and catch up again next year.
