IHADAV8 Playground / Phoenix Injector brake bleeder
« on: April 13 2011, 04:53:46 PM »
I'll be buying one if I need to bleed my brakes again. I used speed bleeders last time and they worked great.

General Buick Tech / Re: Wideband integration« on: April 13 2011, 04:48:28 PM »
Steve you need a NGK AFX with the NTK sensor - they are awesome. Throw that innovative in the trash where it belongs
http://www.hinsonsupercars.com/p-946-ngk-powerdex-afx-wideband-kit.aspx They just work - the innovative stuff is way to flaky imo. 1788

Who knows.....some one wanted him in office. I blame the masons!
I don't care for him, but he has done one thing that is great in my eyes. Lifting the lifetime medical insurance cap from 1 million to unlimited. I'm 31 and had over 1.1 million in medical bills alone last year. I'd be fucked if it hadn't gotten passed. 1789

That would have been great - but I doubt it would have worked on the scale I was burnt....and I guess I'll newer know.
Thanks for sharing guys. This is a friendly reminder to be careful with accelerrants around fire. 1792
General Buick Tech / Re: is the ta-49 still king?« on: December 21 2010, 11:13:11 AM »
I miss my TA-49 and T-type. mid 11's @ 116-118 all day.
Had people come over looking for nitrous, since I blew by them at half track like they were standing still. They were pissed to find a V6 and usually called bull shit when I told them it didn't even have a posi :finga: The 49 was almost to violent on the street - I remember passing someone was an issue. 24psi on tap instantly would burn cold drag radials at 60mph+. 1793

Looks like it'll be a couple more weeks before the rearend ships, wheels and tires are being shipped with it.
I've got line lock, motor mounts and a new y-pipe to install in the mean time. I should yank the front sway bar to get some weight transfer. Hopefully I can gets some runs in early next month. 1794

I'm planning on starting at 4000rpm and working my way up! Clutch grabs like a mofo and is warrantied.
Just waiting on parts...... 1795

I guess we'll just have to find out! Remember these LS1 slugs don't make a ton of torque like the Buick's do. Coupled with a 2.66 1st gear - it needs a lot of rear gear to get it moving.
I'll be happy with a low 12 the way it sits. Next year it'll get a cam/heads and then the combo should be optimal. That will let me rev it to 6600rpm and run 120+mph, which is were everyone seems to change to 28" tires. Either way it should be fun. 1796
IHADAV8 Playground / Re: Mr. Wood wants tech questions......« on: June 16 2009, 07:56:27 AM »
3.73's aren't enough gear - I'd have to kill the clutch to come out without bogging.
No spray. Just bolt on's for now, heads/cam later. I figure I should be able to squeeze 115mph or so out of it with bolton's. 1797

The limiter....I have about 200-300 rpm to work with on the big end.
The ET Streets come highly recommended by everyone. The ET radials don't appear to work on stick cars, and I didn't want to gamble with the $$$. ET Drags or any other slick would have worked, but it probably would have dead hooked at my current power level = broken stuff. The fastest M6 F-bodies claim you want almost one full rotation of spin coming out of the hole. 28" tall is out of the question - as it's to much tire and will bog the car coming out of the hole. These damn N/A cars don't make any torque. Either way it'll be fun - now I'm just waiting for the parts to ship. BTW Mark - my new toy is a 2000 Firebird Formula - LS1/T56. I've done the research - hopefully it'll work. 1798

So....
I'm dropping gear from 3.42 to 4.10. If the mph stays constant I'll be going threw the traps at about 6000 not accounting for tire growth. Tires are ET Street 26x11.5x15 I figure I can drop the 60's from 2.0 to 1.6 or so. Rev limiter is @ 6199. The math comes out to 116.5mph. Think I'll hit it? Either way I think it's time for cam/springs/pushrods - so I can move the peak power up a bit in the revs. 1800
