Title: old new member-
Post by: wmsonta on October 12 2018, 05:23:34 PM
I am in Missouri. Retired for 9 yrs.I remember some of the posters here, from a different forum.
I got my gn out of storage, washed it and listed it for sale. If it does not sell, I will fix some cosmetic things. I may finally license it.
Hi to everybody-

Welcome back :)

Fix it up and drive it.  You will be amazed how much you missed it....I just got my GN down on the ground and going again after several years sitting on my lift.

I never licensed/drove it. I have owned it 22 yrs. I may in the future.

What was the point in buying it if you never drive it?

It is a long story, I won't bore you. Lots of reasons, all made sense at some time, to me.

I own 9 vehicles, 6 in storage. It would be difficult to 'use' all. All but 3 short term, 2 long term will be sold.
I am getting offers to 'help' sell the gn. The man I bought it from was promised first chance to buy it. He misunderstood, but I kept my word. I do not intend to relist it this yr. I will list some of the others. All but 2 have been promised a first chance.
I am working on H body cars now. I own 3. I anticipate cosmetic repairs on the gn and have used the search function.

A man will buy lots to self justify a work addiction.

Yeah, my 'shop' clothes are retired street clothes, work uniforms from previous jobs, etc. Most don't look clean when fresh from washing. There is a beach towel in every one of my stored cars. Old newspapers over the floor mats/carpet of most.
You just viewed one of the first listings in my life. I recently used my camera more times in 2 days than the rest of my life. I am improving.
Anybody interested can go to Craig's List KC Mo, auto parts, use search terms 'Archie Mo'. You should find the other 6 or 7 listings. More will be added. I have listings in cars/trucks, auto parts, wheels/tires and real estate.
I have sold 4 motors, a complete auto to 4 spd (including manual column and dash for nova) conversion for nova/f-bird/camaro, a 9" rear for the same, misc other stuff.

I have started all my cars, except my Chevelle. It will start easily. I am doing some stuff every day, now.
When the gn listing expires, I probably won't drive it. Original belts/hoses, tires at least 22 yrs old. I intend to R & R the headliner and bumper fillers, have it professionally detailed, eBay it next spring.
I'm done. I hate selling.

I'd put on some new rubber and get to driving it.

What's a chevelle? Had to ask.

I am going to keep one, do not care which. My Nova and Chevelle are out w/ people waiting on me. Both are low mileage cars. The V8 Vega has a young man waiting on a price. My choice will be between a '76 4cyl Vega wagon w/13k and the gn. Which ever one sells first.

My mom had a 72 Vega wagon when I was a youngster. It was a four speed and had those 13" white letter tires on I guess ralley wheels. It was bright orange.

Sounds like you are liquidating. I guess if you don't drive em it is good to get them on to someone who will.

What are you keeping?

Which ever one is left. If no one takes the gn, I will not list it again till next spring. It is priced high. You should understand, I do not see them as you probably do.

I see em as vehicles. They are to get me and my stuff/people to and from places. Garage art isn't really what I'm into. But I do want em to run well and get me there and back.
