I used to be.  Seems like it is similar to everything in that it has gotten too technical and the human element and the personalities of the drivers have been diminished.  That's probably an ol' man's perspective on the world in general.

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

Race cars have fenders. Other wise how do you "rub" the other racers?

A race engine that turns 13k rpm, that isn't installed in any street car just isn't that Interesting to me. I like the drag week stuff and power tour where they drive the cars and anyone who an get registered can participate. Don't need factory backing to field a car.

The performance is pretty unreal, ill give em that.

The fact that we have a US team now is interesting.  The other fact is they use High performance computing to turn Electricity in to heat and aerodynamics to make cars go faster.

But I can't drive one. Or at least I doubt they would let me. I can see how some of the tech can trickle down to production but the way the car industry is headed I will probably never buy a new car again.

It does.   F1 tech slowly makes its way into the motorcyle industry...

...then waaaaaaaaay later some of it ends up on production cars.

I use to watch when Jacque Villeneunve was in it.  Loved how he beat Schumacher after he ran into him!  Then he stock with Honda and I realized of crappy Honda was in F1, they would put down really fast laps then blow up.  They couldn't compete with the big boys.  The last F1 Honda won, all the fast guys were so far ahead and wrecked.  Makes me as mad as Honda's stupid F1 inspired TV commercials!! :013: :013:

Yeah Earl, what about the Lexus LFA?  Love the sound of that fast revving engine!!

Schumacher was the man.

It's a shame that something so stupid took him down after all the shit he got away with.

I really used to like watching that Ferrari jumping off the ground when he'd decided it was time to secure the pole and just beat the shit out of that car for a full lap.

Easy to be the man when you have a good car!

Gotta have some girth and aerodynamics to keep it down at over 200mph. Look at what those NASCAR people went through when their cars got too fast and too small.
