IHADAV8 Playground / Power 6 Logo Tattoo ?
« on: August 20 2013, 02:32:59 PM »
Wow I can believe the horrible line work on both of those Tats. I hope they were free or really cheap!!! If I was younger probably would go and get one. It would have to be done by a very good artist cause I would probably kill someone if I got one of those Tattoos and they f'd it up. When I was younger really didn't care so I can say a couple of my pieces are not up to par!
You get what you pay for!!

That clown that worked on my truck way back when was the owner of the business. I should have known better that his wife was the only other employee there working the desk. As far as professions fellas it seems being a lawyer is where it's at!! They seem to have a law degree that allows them to screw as many people as possible and get paid for it with a thank you at the end!!
I've always said that it takes a lot of balls to be a small business owner. Unfortunately I have to deal with a lot of dead beats that for the past five years have been declaring a loss on their returns. My biggest thing with them is who operates a business year after year when your not making any money??? Lie through their teeth no employees no money no need to file a return. Then you look up there living cost and ask how have you been paying your bills
And affording the house you live in??
Gives everybody that wakes up in the morning and goes to work ,earns a living and has to pay Uncle Sam at the end of the day a bad taste in their mouth.

Had to get my blood boiling Gary didn't you!! All these god damn repair shops and there outrageous prices!! Let me explain... I wish I could go into a body shop or a repair shop and just give me what your going to charge me for the job. I don't need all this labor break down or part price Bs. Went recently to a body shop to find out a price on getting my rear bumper filler painted and some surface rust removed from the  trunk lid. Between $1100 to $900 at three different places. I know businesses have over head but when you hear that R&R on the rear bumper is going to be one hour and and paint is going to take 4-5 labor hours I kinda get insulted. Far as the repair aspect I had a Turd F150 yrs ago. Started running rough and stalling. Took it to a shop to fix guy told me I needed new fuel pump and I had a short in one of the wires. Well close to $800 later the truck turned on and died about 30 minutes late after leaving. Not one dime was coming back to me from that shop owner all about how much labor he put in cry cry cry!! I would of had to sue the bitch!! Took it to the dealership, wire found wire fixed new coil installed almost same price as the shop. It's almost the same adage if you go into a store and they tell you it's an extra $.50 if your paying by credit card!! Then just charge more for the products to compensate over head. Now stop complaining Gary, get your feet on floor and get to work and pay your TAX Bill!!

IHADAV8 Playground / For Sale/Trade rant

Well Paypal charges more like 3.5% nobody wants go to the bank and deposit and check or money order. My credit union is over 15miles away from home. I have no problem gifting the money PayPal isn't really gonna protect your purchase. My biggest problem with shipping is the rates change all over the country. I try to keep the shipping in the sale price but for larger items just can't do it. Do get me started with Craigslist!!

Wow that was way too easy!! Used my battery charger ran ground to the door frame with and alligator clip wire and ran alligator clip wire from the terminal on the charger. Grounded the charger to the body. Used it in2 volt mode went right up. I clipped the wires to the window switch harness blue and black wires.
Done!

I swapped the guts out from my old car to my roller doors yesterday. The roller had a manual crank window in it I guess they replaced it before it got painted and never changed back the motor. Anyway few beers later put the electrical stuff all back in. Since my car doesn't have a battery or pretty much anything in it yet. Can I jump the power window motor with a 12vt current and get it to move. It's a brand new regulator/motor too.

Yep it was easy. I bought the car as a roller back in December. So it was pretty well taken apart. Redid the interior and swapped out the rear from my old car since this one was a peg leg. So if I'm putting it back together don't want to get under there again and have to fix something else right away. I always try to keep my cars looking nice.

I have the car sitting now with no front suspension in it. No motor, Trans, exhaust or gas tank. So I do have some wiggle room here.
The rear feed line goes from the fuel filter up over the frame to underneath the rear seats? Something like that. I'm gonna be pulling the old feed line and brake line today and see where I get. Should be simple ?

Well after closer exam( getting my butt under the car) the whole feed line is going to go bye bye. I'm replacing the brake line back. Might as well do the feed line. If Classic tube has not shipped my brake line kit I might just order the feed line too. Other wise might look into just getting some 3/8 tubing and running a made-up line.

I measured the O.D. was 1/4" I'm gonna keep trying to find a repair piece if that does not pan out. Then I might look for other means. I'm guessing compression fittings are ok to use??

This whole mess has been a really dark cloud to show up on the Turbo Buick community. Probably the reason I came running back over here to the lighter side of things.  I'm glad to see everybody is chipping in to get a bucket for Clay. I offered mine up but it needs a lot of body work. I told this story to non car people and they were going nuts especially with the whole idea of letting a customer work in the owners facility. The whole idea of law suits that could have been brought up. From a business prospective he could have easily lost his insurance coverage for his business. My wife had a intoxicated migrant worker saw his arm at the farm where she works the insurance co dropped them instantly. I'm glad that nobody got hurt during the fire car can be replaced. There is a line that you need to walk when you run a business once you step over to the other side of said line nothing ever will be the same. In my field I usually see them filling for chp11 Bankruptcy at the end of that line.

So ran into this little problem. My roller I bought the front fuel line fittings are toast. Thanks to Paulie he showed me that Dorman makes a repair kit for 3/8 feed line. The return line is 1/4 I can't seem to find anything. Don't really want to hack up my other car that has my motor in it. Any ideas I have already cut the twisted mess off and now sitting with a 1/4 line that needs an end!!

General Buick Tech / Re: Anybody have their Throttle get stuck!!!
« on: November 13 2012, 09:49:09 AM »
While the car was turned off on the side of the road I pulled the throttle bracket back and it came back to its normal postion. When I open the hood the Throttle looked Like it was in the right postion. Im going to take a look at the Cruise control and the vacuum hoses. All I know is it sucked and I don't want that to happen again.

General Buick Tech / Anybody have their Throttle get stuck!!!
« on: November 13 2012, 08:34:20 AM »
Driving my GN yesterday back home was working on the WE4 this weekend. Went to get on the gas on an open road and the throttle went to the floor scared the living Crap out of me and was stuck. Glad the brakes are on the good side and there were no cars around. So I shifted down to Neutral and shut her down. Turned her back on and same. Turned the car off again let her roll back onto the shoulder and popped the hood. Checked the throttle cable and the bracket everything seemed fine. turned the car back on and it was running fine TPS .42 RPM fine I did notice IAC at 3-5 little low.
I have a spare TV cable I don't know if I should check there or a bad throttle cable. Any ideas?
