Do you have R-12 or 134a or your car? Start a poll, because I have R-12, Phil has 134a.

I still use R12 - I hoarded a case a few years back. I will go to 134 next time, with an upgrsaded condenser.

Okay, I'll look and see which kind I have, but does that drastically change the procedure for recharge?

Well, I'm gonna check it tonight and I hope that you'll have good instructions for me (like always) because I don't trust that DVD they sell at AutoZone on the subject.

Stock, they're R-12. Do the R-134a conversion. Its cheaper.
Have someone put a vacuum in the system before you
recharge it. Otherwise you'll run into problems later on.
