This Powermaster looks funny, what's wrong with this?

And what the heck is this thing used for?

Fucking ridiculous, you can do it buy hand. It would only be useful if I used it more than once.
My 1958 Mamiya can beat up whatever camera you just wasted your money on.

Natty, the only thing that makes having the Casper tool nice is that you can set the cam sensor while the engine is still on the stand.  It also makes it nice if the engine is in the car.  You don't have to probe any wires ...just plug it in and rotate the cam sensor until the led lights up.

That powermaster looks nothing like the one that is mounted in my car, and mine is stock.

I kinda figured that ATR piece was a gimmick item.

just curious ...what year car do you have?  better yet could you post a picture of your powermaster? you have me wondering now.  The one in the auction looks like the 3 have sitting shelf  with the exception that the one in the auction most likely works properly

I have an '87 GN.  My reservoir is different, and my assembly is silver, not black.

oh okay ...yea the reservoirs are different.  My guess is that the ebay one may be one for a caprice.  same basic unit just made in the 90's

FWIW & IMHO:
Just for comparasion's sake, I have had 5 '86-'87 turbo Buicks, and none of them had a powermaster that looked like that. Seems to have the updated accumulator ball & grey switch, but the main body should be silver color, or approximating a silver color, and the gold on the electricial motor unit shouldn't be quite so gold. The gold color on the standard, as in usual or normal, and not as in Standard manufacturing Company comes from a Cad plate or cadium process, or a process called iridite dip, which is pretty standard in the manufacturing or aerospace industry for minor rework or touch-up for cad plated parts. Yours almost looks like a gold colored/tinted applied paint. I will attach a picture of a unit that is unretouched and a brand new powermaster unit of known origin. That is probably from a  different model of Buick, as you say, but it is not from a turbo Buick.

Gary...I should have bought that damn thing when I had the chance.  But no, I put it off thinking no one would buy that for awhile from Kirban...damni t.  I kinda figured something was wacky about the one I posted, oh well.  And alot of people bid on that ATR gimmick item.

Gordyzx9r: Did you win the bid and buy it?
That unit will work on a turbo Buick by changing the bake fluid resevoir, I have heard.
