The Hooker catback system has come with different mufflers over the years. Just to be clear, and I understand you stated you have the same system, but did your system come with the aerochamber mufflers? Just for more info on my car, I'm running a 6262 Precision turbo, Champion ported irons with match ported intake, 212/212 cam w/roller rockers, and a .030 over motor. And ........ no drone.  :D
Yes it came with the same mufflers!  But I have a 224/224 cam with ported Champions and 4.1.  Like I said it was the big A/R on the exhaust that did that. It never did it before and it sounds good WOT!

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

How many day long trips are you people taking that some drone is a problem?

I daily drove my GN with a 'droning' 3" ATR single shot over 600miles a week, every single week right up until it was stolen.    It was amazing how much more ass the exhaust note had when the 250,000 mile stock engine got replaced with a high compression, big cam, roller 4.2L.

I'll take the sound of the drone at cruise over the horrible sound of a Buick V6 at full honk any day of the week.
'87 GN - 4.2L SFI Turbocharged innercooled V6 - Chrome valve covers - supra pump - 14" K&N - 52mm throttlebody - rocker shaft supports -  1/2 intake spacer - TB coolant bypass - 3" ATR exhaust tip - Alum intake pipe - NOS timing cover - chip - relocated charcoal canister - CR42's - stock

If you love the drone, buy a pair of the turbo mufflers that were popular for at least five minutes on Regals in the early days!  :D
