I was in on the 1st shipment & got it Oct. 20th The lighted case I ordered should be shipping soon. I haven't used it but Wendy uses it everyday. First charge of battery & it's at 30% usage as of yesterday. Not bad since the charge was done on Oct 28. Even tho we don't run wireless in the house, after I set up the account with info & credit card, she purchased a book sitting in the LR & it loaded in a few mins. The thing is pretty cool to me being that I'm so far behind in what's out there these days. IMO it's well worth the $100 shipped.

RIM is pushing their shitty Playbooks out, and Lenovo has a really good full featured 10/1" tablet for $299.00

the fire is not as full featured as the pad, but, it probably meets the needs of most buyers that would not really use the pad features...I still am very happy with my touchpad...gre at for reading comic books on and looking up info on the net to help me in skyrim....lol

My son loaded android on his...I don't know how far they have gone in tuning it up with android, tho=he partioned it so he still has webos which I really like

Bro-in-law indirectly work for R*m, so he acquired Playb**ks for the students in the family.
Nicely integrates w berryphones, both are rather similar in the end.
My fingers are too big for any of these touch keyboards, but I do like the fire. Wish it did the whispernet3G.

I broke down and sub'd to Amazon Prime. Too often often I need to get fast shipping on

last minute items so  i can maximize border trips.


The Kindle lending library is a really nice perk of Prime. Older, less popular stuff but still rather nice.
