Anyone have experience with any of the modest pumps?

I see Eric has a house branded pump and an AEM,
Kirban has a Delphi and must be a Walbro,
Mike(full throttle) has a Racetronic house brand and a Walbro? ....
Highwaystars has the stock Delphi
I put a Deatchwerks in the other car, but it really is overkill in both situations.

Dave...if there's anything that should be overkill with these cars...it's the fuel pump. Even on a daily driver...yer' gonna wanna mash the loud pedal every now and again. When you do...you don't wanna come up short on fuel. If research shows these pumps you mention are made by top manufacturers. ..then I'd give them the green lite for those who ask.
Dave...yer' a good man. The little ladies car got the best.

I agree with the anything being overkill it being the fuel pump. I have a walbro me and Charles installed in 2012, and it's supplies the pressure just fine for what I'm running, but I get nervous nonetheless. After that bad batch they had some years ago, I just dont feel comfortable. Lol

Walbro 430/450 pumps are the way to go.

SOME guys are getting away with the stock return line up to a 340. Anything over that will require a larger return line to keep the fuel pressure under control. I use a 255 pump...just to piss people off.

I talked to a vendor about making JUST the larger return line. I'll be testing it in the spring. I'll likely jump to a 340 from the 255.

Brad I'd go with the -8 feed at the same time. You're going to have the tank down anyways, routing the line in the same place on the frame rail. Sending unit will have to come out to add an AN fitting for the connection. You might as well add the other AN fitting and bigger pump while its apart. Just a suggestion.

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle! Why not just ensure this by putting a -6AN fitting on the damn sender... because that still looks like a 5/16" push fitting in the picture to me. -6AN to 5/16" is not going to improve the return flow at all with a restriction anywhere in the system. Unless the goal is to have some sort of short term volume gained in the line itself? Maybe just install a surge tank on the return side to absorb the returned fuel for short bursts?
Fuck. I don't know. Whatever.
Guess I am going to have to put a -6AN return line in the Monte since I am planning on using a 450 and a stock-style GM hanger...

The Deatch with our stock lines seems OK so I guess it really must vary w the manufacturered variance. IIRC there was only one spot where the formed restriction was problemmatic?

Drilling out the Saginaw fittings was the cure for some from what I read.

I'm assuming the 450's and larger are to handle the volume required for E85. My 6.7 at 105 was with a single 255 and 60's with race gas. Eric says 60's will take you to a mid 10 with race gas...and you're tapped out. He wasn't wrong.

Dw300 it's what I'm talking about. Have one in my T. Chris was told the other day that it would not work with his hot wire kit and the special return line kit.... Worked fine without either

I've heard most people were able to run that pump without a bigger return. :cool;

We could feed it with a lossy 22/24Ga teflon ( so we don't care if it get warm) wire and only switch on the hotwire circuit when required :)

No the exact opposite. the 340lph pumps are not a problem at wot where you are using the fuel the problem is at idle. that volt booster should not be needed with enough pump at least for fuel.

Kenne Bell has a Boost-A-Pump that does this (my guess is via some capacitors).
