Title: Torque Converter??
Post by: melrob94 on April 14 2011, 04:37:47 PM
I took the car out last evening and I noticed a whine coming from the transmission, only in gear and progresses with rpm.  I brake torqued the car and it wouldnt do a burnout, but as soon as I let off the brake the car took off and lit up the tires.  It would build boost on the brake but wouldnt break the tires loose.  It is a stock D5 converter and a 200r4.  Any help would be appreciated.

Rob.

I brake torqued it in the driveway and it would only build about 3lbs of boost and I could hold the throttle to the floor and that is all it would do and the rpm's wouldn't go above 2600.  Driving i can kick it and boost 23lbs.

I think I figured it out.  after putting the te44 on with Precision .63 the stock converter wont allow the turbo to spool up.  thanks for all the input though.

if  you have a programmable chip...take a little fuel out of low and add some more timing
