General Buick Tech / Headers
« on: December 25 2019, 10:13:04 PM »
interesting quote:
Mr full throttle: You have the KB style headers, you need a downpipe for those, the SE style headers fit with those downpipes but there is currently no internal gate pipes made that fit with the ATR/KB style headers, only a pipe with an external gate on it. Terry Houston used to make one but those are very hard to find. His regular pipe will not fit...honestly I would keep the downpipe and use the SE style header if possible. If not you can get the 3” pipe with the gate but you will need to port the turbo and cut the inner fender to make that work. Call me if you need help figuring this out

Wow, who can keep track of all this, I know i would never be able to find this again on the social media platform

IHADAV8 Playground / Sigh...

The New York-based Empire State Consumer Project has asked the Hasbro Board of Directors to stop producing “assault-style” Nerf guns.

One of the Nerf blasters the group is targeting is the Ultra One. It is a drum fed toy gun holding 25 soft darts.

Empire State Consumer Project Director Carol Chittenden thinks that parents that buy these toy guns are bad examples for their kids.

“It's a matter of this being a very vulnerable consumer group. Children buy what they see, and we're not sure this is driven by market demand for assault weapon toys by children or the industry creating the demand,” said Chittenden.

General Buick Tech / hiding problems?
« on: December 01 2019, 10:11:16 PM »
When people post that their stock car was running like crap- then they install a modern chip and all their woes have gone away....

I figure they probably still have the same problem, the chip is just masking the symptoms

Comments?

Toughboo Hades

Was gifted a toughbook.
Appears it was former corporate machine and had receive a very complete wipe.
A Toughbook made in that  transition era- sold with XP yet internally has SATA drives.
Spent a day ( more really) finding hints online and slipstreaming (no floppy)various SATA drivers into XP install CD. Still nothing but BSODS.

Something-buntu of course install flawlessly, so no apparent hardware issues.

Try my weiner7 disk - sorry I only see 32 bit hardware.
Get a 32 bit OS disk - nope can't recognize your weird (from above buntu ) formatting.

Could I get any of the USB formatting utils to work? -Nahhh.

Pull out the drive and disassemble to access SATA, stuff
into a desktop and reformat.

Finally Weiner7 installs, performanceind ex=2.
Well, closer to 4 with Aero turned off.

Expect this will be good enough for Powerlogger, but that can wait for tomorrow...

Wasn't happy with how the split loom works out at the typical Metripack connection.
Attacked my CAD program and then printed this sample. Need to reprint in a heat tolerant material....

Much as they get slammed on the forums:
I placed an order- within TWO hours they called me to tell me one part was backordered but the rest was ready for pickup!
Those boys have a lot of fittings in their repertoire

Albright died last December at the remarkable age of 102. The family has been repairing the house for sale, sifting through boxes, closing up a life that spanned a whole century.

Which was why the last bill from DirecTV seemed so galling: Although she lived more than 100 years, Albright still received an "early termination fee'' from DirecTV.

General Buick Tech / Power Logger aux inputs
« on: October 02 2019, 07:47:22 PM »
Finally wiring these things up-questions:
The only sensor you can use with power logger is a 100psi sensor?
Does PL assume 5V or 4.5V at 100psi?
Does the above hold constant when you apply an offset in the settings?
What is the difference in 100psi-B vs 100psi in the settings?
No way to put ANA4 or 5  in the Gauge page?
