Removing Charcoal Canister-Questions
« on: May 25 2016, 06:33:48 PM »
Dan and I installed the new CAI unit which goes through the DS fender at the bottom. I have an ATR charcoal cansiter relocation kit. If I decided to do away with the charcoal canister...the n I have a couple of questions.

Will a code get kicked when I unplug it?

I assume I can cap off the vacuum line going back to the engine?

Can I leave the vent line open...to vent to the atmosphere...o r is there something else that should be done with the line?

No codes.    Do not fill the tank up to reduce the chance of fuel being pushed out the line. That would not be good

With Eric's chips, you won't get a code.  I left the the one vacuum line to that can beneath the charcoal filter under the wheel well.  I left that one because I thought it might help with the vacuum brakes but who knows. Removed the other vacuum line completely. I used a zip tie to secure the fuel tank vent line between the header panel and the radiator.  No problems with a full tank so far.  You can remove all the EGR stuff as well.
