reverse light?

ok i cant seem to get them to work?
i played with the switch on the column for ever lol  nothing..
any ideas where to start?

the switch can be bad, but, I think I would play with the shifter a bit my barely moving it a little both ways from reverse to be sure the back up lights don't come on.  It is very common with age for the shifter rod to need a little adjustment
