The smaller faster spooling turbo is the way to go.  You are faster on a road course when you can maintain momentum.

I have been trying to tell him to sell it (mine). It is not like we do not have any GN's.  I like my GN, but there is more to life and much other things I would like to do.

I have read about a few brake upgrades that can be done inexpensively.
One is to use the steering knuckles and brake rotors from a Chevy Caprice. Using the knuckles is key because they improve the suspension geometry and also allow
you to use the larger Caprice rotors. The other is to get calipers for a Chevy S-10 (SS or X-treme) with the ZQ8 suspension package. They supposedly used a dual piston caliper. You may have to use the s-10 hoses as well. Aftermarket braided stainless are best. Use D.O.T. 4 brake fluid on the brake side of the master only, if using a powermaster. Do not use D.O.T. 5 under any circumstance as it will aerate in the event you are able to get it hot enough to boil.

After some research, I think I am going to go the LS1 F-body route. With the help of two brackets, which I can fab myself, it is all bolt on front and rear.

Oh yeah, and it all fits in the 16" GTA wheels. No need for the expense to go to 17" or 18" wheels.

Real slow. I am hoping to have the car on the road this spring. The brakes are on hold for now. Maybe a summer project?

It will be nice to see my GN on the road again, especially with my new turbo in it. We may have to switch DD's a few times.   :yawinkle:
