Checked injector pulse with a noid light, all good.
Tapped the crap out of them and I finally got it to run for a a little then stalled out.
Started up and stayed running.. put 10 gal of fresh 93 and drove it a good 20 miles and it didn’t skip a beat.  She’s a handful..
Thanks for your help Steve.

I tapped on the bases like you described.
Any suggestions now?

Thanks Steve!

Sprayed some brake kleen in the plenum, and it started and ran for a few seconds then shut off.

Help with no start.
I’ve followed the steps outlined in the Vortex Buicks pages, and here’s where I’m at…
87 GN, 15 K miles, TT 60 lb injectors and 5.7 chip with 255 Walbro in tank recently.
Car sat for 2 years without starting.
I have spark, 32 lbs pressure on the rail, injector pulse, but no start.
Is it possible the injectors are clogged?
Where do I go next?

I stopped in the shop yesterday and didn’t see that...must be keeping it in a safe place.

For Sale/Trade/Want To Buy / New Richmond Gear Set
« on: September 06 2016, 06:46:34 AM »
I finally found some time to get the GN out and beat on it over the weekend.  That gave me the opportunity to do some garage cleaning.

I found a new set of Richmond gears that I purchased a while ago with the intentions of converting to a 3.73 ratio.  That never happened and it never will, so offering them up for sale here.

Fits 8.5-8.6" , 10 bolt, 3 series carrier.

$175 plus actual shipping.

Glad to see you made it here Frank.  This place is a whole lot different than the other site.  You can get real answers, from experienced, educated people, without all the super ego crap.
Get that GN finished and take me for a ride...

Nice work Gary.

Thanks Joel. Isn't the Buick soon due for inspection? Don't you need an excuse to get away?!?!?!?

As soon as it stops snowing, I'll call for an appointment..L OL

I'm a few weeks away from putting a "big tire car" on the street.  The blue one...   :O

If there is no oil consumption then you are not burning any oil.      (I am just being a smart ass, I am assuming you mean no significant oil consumption).

Hey, I'm used to it, I have kids....

No significant oil consumption.

He never answered how much oil it was using and if he checked the plugs for signs of carbon.  If it is consuming a significant amount of oil and the plugs are clean it is just another sign pointing to the turbo leaking into exhaust.

There is no oil consumption.
I'll pull a few plugs tomorrow and see what they look like.

With only about 6k miles on the turbo, I'm figuring on the valve seals....
It's resting in the heated garage until we get through the winter.

My money is on turbo seal.

How do I check that?
