There is one on Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/221078370843?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 brand new $100.00 +S&H 17.34(need to bid) but it's from Standard, and I don't know their reputation on cam sensor.

Having a motor rewound in the usa can be expensive.  The oem units come from china and they get paid a eggroll a month.

Many, Many, Many years ago when I finished and left the USMC I worked in a electric motor shop in Long Island NY. I still keep contact of the owner and I will ask him about these little electric antenna motor. The worst he could said it will be expensive to rewind, but then again what is the cost of rewind against a new one that still has to be modify to fit.

Anyone has any ideas of what type of compatible cars that uses the electric antenna to the TR?  I'm not talking about the antenna itself, maybe do a motor switch.

Today I contact my friend who owes the Electric motor shop, and I asked him if he rewind alternator? He doesn't work on any DC only AC, but he did mention to try a place that rebuilds starters and maybe alternator. I don't know any place in SC since my moved from NY as I'm still GPS the surrounding areas. If I do find such a place I will post for all to know.

My listings showed it as the 9:00 episode.

Bill Sauvino's car (GNX?) with Bill. Kind of obfuscated  GNs vs GNX.

Leno only showed up for the vette segment.

Go figure, It's the south Charter cable system, and they can't even that right :013:

In my case the motors weren't the issue it was always the cable inside that snapped. I think there are more issues of that than the actual motor burning up?  :chin:

This thread started with motor being burnt and no replacement, since you asked about the nylon cable then read this. I was lucky to repaired my nylon cable, but if the cable do snap again then I do the following TurboBuick member did as he replaced his TTA electric antenna nylon cable with 3/32 galvanized bare cable for less than $2.00.

Thanks, Julio.  I am familiar with those.  :)  I have been kicking over the various ways to deal with it...Radio still works, but, I don't have many choices out here with regard to conventional radio.  I do have Sirius, but, I seldom use it....just aggravates me the antenna will not go up and down without my assistance  :D

This may sound crazy, and I don't if they could do it or not, but at one time I though of having the motor rewind by a electric motor shop, if my problem was the electric motor was burnt. It was then after taking it apart is when I found the nylon cable snap a few inches from where it connects to antenna.
Do you know what other type of cars besides TR are using just the motor itself and then rebuild the 1/4 century system?

Wow, they have become proud of those things!  Maybe my son is right when he says, "Dad, no one listens to radio anymore! Ipod is where it's at, or upload to the cloud"

Out here in the boondocks, satellite is where it's at as far as I am concerned :D

Besides putting a wire hanger in place of the antenna, and don't want to deal with the monthly cost of satellite, you could get what I used. I have an mp3 usb music player (http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-USB-8G-8GB-WMA-MP3-MUSIC-PLAYER-FM-RADIO-VOICE-RECORDER-LCD-SCREEN-/280916069530?pt=Other_MP3_Players&hash=item4167e70c9a)

with a car mp3 adapter (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-Fm-Radio-Transmitter-Adapter-for-iPod-MP3-Player-/280794742694?pt=Other_MP3_Player_Accessories&hash=item4160abbfa6)

You can download music from your laptop to the usb mp3 player and then plug the car mp3 adapter into your car's cigarette plug, turn on your car stereo and tune to the same frequency. The music will then play through the car speakers. I only gave you an example of the car mp3 adapter as there is many to choice from. The mp3 player is the one I have since it uses only one "AAA" battery, 8GB of memory to be use for anything, not just for music. If you are more interested in this set up, let me know or PM. Julio

It amazes me that there are no quality replacement antennas on the market.

One of mine gave up the ghost and the motor burned up so it is not a question of installing a new cable.  Tried to buy one from  Glen and was told that they had not been able to find a supplier that could furnish one that would work consistently so they no longer offered them.

One would think that such things would be almost universal between car lines

Steve, I too was looking for a replacement, but realize I repaired the nylon cable.
This site claimed is a direct replacement, but I don't see the bracket that is attached from the mast. Maybe you can continue inquiring about this.
