General Buick Tech / combustion chamber softening

Hi guys been laying in the weeds not doing much with the car did some chassis and suspension work she rolls pretty straight and true now, we only had 1 test and tune event last year and 1 race this year with Covid restrictions.

I have a question about chamber softening to help reduce detonation, has anyone ever played with this or do you know of any that has?

Got bored and spent the afternoon sanded some of the blue and hit it with some BBQ paint added a tri-shield badge and some hood badges now its flat black all over.

General Buick Tech / Helping a buddy can’t lower boost.

Car has had a new turbo 6262 added and a Lorenz controller TH style downpipe.
Puck moves freely and all hoses are new.
Installed a powerlogger for him and said I would help setup a decent tune in it.
Power logger and boost gauge both read the same
28-29 psi. (Car ran like a raped ape)
Cranked the boost controller back as far as I could no change.  Loosened the actuator 1/4 inch there was slack no change. Unhooked the boost controller went tuner style no change.
I might try a lighter can if I can find one local.
Boost pressure not getting to the can perhaps?
Any other ideas?

So me and the Mrs are planning a trip to Nashville in January to take in a hockey game. My Cousin has 2 boys both first round draft picks 1 plays for Nashville the other Washington so we are going to a game to hopefully see them play each other. After that we are going to rent a car and head to Memphis and Graceland our flight home is from New Orleans a place we both have always wanted to visit. Any must see spots between Memphis and New Orleans?

IHADAV8 Playground / TR6 problems

It was eating coils and now it won’t spin past 4000 rpm. So I’m still having issues but think I found the problem. I sent the box to Bob he figures it’s repairable.
My question is this appears to be a voltage problem my logs show 13 to 14.5 volts.
The power source for the module is a separate panel hot wired to the alternator I’m borrowing a stock module and coil should I wire a ballast resistor in line to be safe?

So I had the Vega at a little track in Victoria wanted to test after my suspension changes.
It’s much straighter and seams to hook well.
I could not get it to 60’ best was a I did was a 1.75 I had the 2 step set at 3400 rpm and saw 10lbs of boost   
My suspicion is I flooded it with meth as it starts spraying at 7 psi
How safe am I to dial it back to 10 psi as a turn on point for the meth?

General Buick Tech / MAP sensor wiring

So I wired my power logger to the green wire terminal A on C437 like I had it in the white car and nothing, the connector is not connected to anything and I have ran power to terminal F to run the motor, there is no power at the map sensor and I have probed the C437 connector terminal G black and white marked as ground has 5 volts? Nothing at terminal B I jumped the G and B together and got a reading of 20 PSI on the powerlogger? Is it as simple as grounding terminal G?

General Buick Tech / looking for opinions

so The Vega is about to start its transformation . Its going to be a bit of a sleeper stock 4 link suspension with a 12 bolt that has 456 gears lol. I can get a 373 for the 4 series carrier which should be good, its going to be a small tire 8.5 x 26 slick at the track and a similar sized drag radial on the street. My 2800 stall will be too tight I think for this light weight losing 1000 lbs changes things 3200 or even 3400 stall would like to keep the lock up? Was also considering a cam swap to move power up in the rpm so its not flat lining at the end of a 1/4 mile pass what do you think?
