Waterpump bolt ?
« on: January 18 2011, 08:45:33 PM »
So I'm installing what seems to be a CAS 4v intercooler 19 row. The bracket that came with it on the passangerside mounts to the stud the stock bracket did. The other bolt bolts on to the waterpump long bolt. I need to get a longer bolt does anybody know what size the thread it is, and how long is the stock bolt?

Since it's so close to 4 1/2 do you think it would be safe to go with a 5" bolt
or would 4 1/2 be fine. With the bracket and another washer that will add about 1/4" spacing??? Thanks Ed!!
One more question would adding this bracket affect the torque specs on the bolt? I know its not that tight maybe 20lbs on the waterpump.

I would use a stud. Intall the stud with a washer and nut and torque.  Leave yourself about 3/4" to mount the bracket with another washer and nut. Tightern and hold the inside nut so not to change the torque. Use sealant on the stud.  If you can't find long enough stud, threaded rod works fine. Make sure it's graded and even better if stainless.
