Most all the manual boost valves are patterned after the "grainger" valve

here is the orginal version.  I still use these on my cars.  http://www.gusmahon.org/html/boostcontrol.htm

When the boost pressure gets high enuf going into the valve, it raises the check ball off the seat against the spring pressure holding it on its seat and boost then passes thru to the actuator.

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

Thanks...next question. Would this make one of our engines spool up quicker...like for someone that bracket races.

It allows you to spool more boost before letting boost hit the actuator .  Without it, the puck will begin to creep open gradually which limits the launch boost.

So the answer is yes, it will.

Most people use Jason's version of it because you turn the knob to change the boost level and don't have to pull a hose off.  Note that the spring allows one to set the launch boost up to around 20 psi or so.  Total boost may still need to be set with the actuator  rod adjustment

My cars always launched much harder with the controller than they did with just a hose tuner style.  boost comes up much quicker after launch in my experience

Thanks. Think I'll pick one up and get the hang of it this year before I start racing again this year.

2 solenoids and boost commander worked very well. I know some chips work the solenoid pretty hard to promote spool up too.
