GN1's with TA Performance replacement headers
« on: November 12 2013, 10:00:59 PM »
If you have GN1's and are planning to get TA Performance replacement headers you must grind a clearance into the flange over cylinders 2 & 4. It's agravating to pay over $700 for parts which need to be cleaned up (grinding flange over weld from out of the #2 runner) and now having to grind spark plug clearances into the header flange. I also purchased a new TA front cover and the big tab on the passenger side cracked. I had it welded by an expensive "compitent" welder. It's rediculous when the vendor could not put a very minor operation into the tool cut path so that you would have indigestion if you purchased Champ heads instead of TA's. TA knows all about these small issues because they told me that they did. To summarize, I spent over $1400 plus my time and additional fees to know that when I'm done with these parts they will be correct.

Not a problem with irons. The spark plug position is different between iron and aluminum and between TA aluminum and Champ aluminum. I have Champ aluminums. The TA' headers seal up well and will take a car into the 10's.
