Went out the test fit the mini bullet and had some help.
Looks Like I can come straight out of the mini bullet and out the bumper cover.

Always good to have an extra set of eyes and hands when doing hot rod stuff! I can tell you that sometimes you’ll get a little frustrated with those little set of hands but those hands won’t stay little for long. Enjoy it! Savor it!

Just need to put an o2 bung in the downpipe and the exhaust is ready. Still have to drill the 3.5” hole in the bumper cover.
Welder seemed to be happy today welds aren’t show quality, but I laid down some decent beads.
Now to remove the downpipe that came with the kit. Radiator needs pulled, Or i might be able to pull the engine mount and stand and get it out.

I've test fit the downpipe and everything clears after welding. I got the o2 bung welded in, it's closer to the turbo than I wanted but it'll work. Next step is loosen up the bumper cover and mark/drill. I tested on some of the cover I cut away last year and it came out good. Hopefully it'll be the same when I drill the actual hole!
I feel like captain slow, but I'm still plugging away.

So yeah I must have been a little distracted by my helper, the downpipe exit needed to come down a couple inches. It was exiting at the marker light. Some more cutting and welding, but version 2.0 is ready for test fit.
And yes Steve - I’m ready to send this thing down the track - not much longer I hope.

Parents with older kids trying to learn to ride a bike don't buy a 20" huffy unless it already has training wheels on it, if not they save the nickel and make the axle to short to bolt training wheels on. This is my second attempt, this time I busted out the cutoff wheel, drill, and welder. I made some simple brackets and welded it together. No adjustment but it's 100% stable now, which he needs at this point. Once he's gained some confidence they'll be coming off.

It sucks looking at the pics and seeing issues..
Obviously I'll be cleaning up the hole, I was a little off and the rivets pulled the trim ring as well. Easy fix.
The pipe was just resting inside the muffler, once the band clamp it on it centers up nicely, or close enough for me.


I got the downpipe wrapped as well one of my least favorite things to do, but it's necessary.
