Shelf Life: Denatured Alcohol with/Uplon Lube?
« on: April 23 2011, 07:13:48 PM »
What is the shelf life of denatured alcohol with Uplon Lube mixed in it?  I thought it would be fairly long but now I'm being told it could be as little as 3 weeks once the seal is broken.

was it resealed....it goes bad from moisture being absorbed into it...if the source is closed off, it should be fine.

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

that probably was not that well sealed

it will not be bad..it will just be diluted with some water....after all, some run 50-50 and others run straight water....if it does not show timing retard, it is okay

I use 1 oz per gal. for the past 7 years and I'm still on the same pump.  It's a first generation SMC kit.

It doesn't sound like a capful would be enough to over oil something. Strange. What brand pump do you keep killing?

Its my fault because i have been throwing regular fuel injection pumps for an s10 or a chevy in there since the orginal one died.I was just wondering if i wasnt putting enough oil in with it.I should just get the correct pump and be done with it.The pumps were free so i cant complain. But it really opened my eyes to hitting the test button before each run to make sure it works. When  the orignal one died and took out the head gaskets.
